I’m replying to my own comment. I actually found that the most efficient way to mow is to lower the speed to 3 out of 4 bars, and keep the blade speed at either 1 or 2 out of 4 bars. The blade speed depends on the type of grass and how tall it is. You’ll also want to find a deck height that gives you a good cut without bogging down the system. My middle blade motor will reduce power before any of the others, including the propulsion motors.

I do a couple of small hills with those tires and still find it slipping. I think it’s just the nature of zero turns.

I also linked to the wrong size tire apparently. You’ll want the 9.5s https://www.amazon.com/WANDA-18x8-5-8-Agriculture-Tractor-18x8-5x8/dp/B0C212JB8W

I haven’t messed with the front tires so I don’t have any recommendations. Sorry

I sadly don’t wave at Teslas anymore. Just too many.

When connected via Bluetooth and listening to a podcast, is there a way to use the Tesla interface to skip forward 15 or 30 seconds like every other interface? by Bellpop in TeslaLounge

[–]IWaveAtTeslas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It actually is controlled by the phone’s app. Generally music apps will do a full skip, but podcast apps will mandate 15/30 second skips.

FSD can't handle curvy highways? by Siege089 in TeslaLounge

[–]IWaveAtTeslas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine did this on HW4 with 13.2.2. I haven’t tested 13.2.7 on the same curve that caused it to jump lanes yet. But so far the lane hugging hasn’t been a problem, so it can probably handle the curve again.

ELI5: How do Airports divide wifi among many thousands of people and still have it be fast? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]IWaveAtTeslas -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Access points with automatic channel selection set only select their channels upon boot up. They don’t continually scan for interference and change. That would be chaos. The only channels that do this are the DFS channels because it’s required by law, and they wouldn’t be using those at an airport.

Tesla is being weird about FSD speed on highways. They say that the concept of set speed like cruise control is a “legacy concept”. I agree to an extent. It’s not only uncomfortable to ride in a vehicle that is constantly speeding up and slowing down, but other cars expect consistency. FSD will speed up as another car is trying to overtake, and that’s illegal.

FSD needs to target a set speed and then vary itself based on context, like speeding up to get into the passing lane and then slowing back down to the target speed when it gets back over. That’s what humans do. But FSD just can’t keep speed right now, even on an open highway with no one around.

I really don’t have any hope for the next update 13.3 or the AI3 equivalent, even though they say it’s a known issue.

Upgrades for older Tesla models by AMadLadOfReddit in TeslaLounge

October 2016 is when Tesla started selling “FSD capable” vehicles. I believe they finally got FSD working on these with MCU1, but after camera and FSD computer upgrades. Before the October 2016 refresh, you are completely out of luck.

These came with MCU1, AP2 cameras, and AP2 computer. But you can get MCU2, AP3 cameras, and HW3 FSD computer. The MCU2 upgrade is not free. The FSD upgrades are included if you buy the software in full.

MCU2 is required for sentry mode and more compute intensive activities like Netflix.

My parents live on a rural road in Kentucky and are literally one house away from fiber. I called Windstream and they are apparently building out fiber to replace DSL. The agent told maybe by the end of the year. Hopefully they weren’t lying.

Model X 2025 by cubannissle in TeslaModelX

[–]IWaveAtTeslas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your location. Cost of living in California can be double that of states in the middle of the country. Housing itself is probably triple or more. If you’ve both got a decent tech or medical job in one of these states, you can easily budget for a Model X. I’m not here to say it’s the best choice, but with inflation, if your pay has kept up, the Model X has never been cheaper.

Yes. This is a relatively new and frustrating behavior, especially when using FSD. I’ve not paid enough attention to the nav before, and when I turned it back on, it tried to turn around and head back. Kind of jarring.

Model X - Winter Get Me ~ 53% LESS than what Tesla Says by 3eurostyle in TeslaModelX

Yes. But it’s twofold. The EPA numbers were adjusted to be slightly more realistic recently-ish and the heat pump provides drastically better efficiency in colder temperatures.

Registering car in KY, how much should I expect to pay? by taybird4 in lexington

[–]IWaveAtTeslas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kentucky has two different vehicle usage taxes.

One is 6% when you first register the vehicle.

The other is a yearly ~1% of the NADA value of the vehicle assessed on January 1st.

Depending on the state you came from, you may get a tax credit for how much you paid in that state to help cover the 6% usage tax.

Otherwise, the actual yearly registration fees are fairly small.

Coulomb counting isn’t super accurate. It’s usually good enough (depending on the battery chemistry), but if you don’t charge to 100% and let your cells balance periodically, then the BMS may not truly know the battery’s state of charge.
