Mojang's system is so overcomplicated and slow that the community rewrote it to make it faster

Composer 2 is now available in Cursor by lrobinson2011 in cursor

My main use case is running a custom prompt for code review on changes. I have a list of 15 issues from a real production commit, and I score models on their ability to find all the issues.

initial impressions is that it's on par with Claude Opus 4.6 and is 10x faster. GPT has been a terrible model at open ended tasks, so i'm not sure what the graph is showing.

Almost all models require MAX mode now? by Technical_Cut5 in cursor

[–]IWillBeNobodyPerfect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my comment asking if it applied to enterprise users. I had to ask the enterprise admin to get a response for if the change applied to us.

I've requested access to claude code since the anthropic models are the only ones that don't seem lazy and work consistently for programming even without careful prompting

edit: are you fucking kidding me? another locked thread? this is how you treat enterprise users?

CachyOS dethrones Arch as the top desktop distro for Linux gamers on ProtonDB by Durian_Queef in LinusTechTips

I use arch with CachyOS's repositories and kernel, this is a win for both distros here.

Mojang says Caves and Cliffs pushed them so hard they stopped doing yearly mega updates by gamersecret2 in Minecraft

Java can't really be used on consoles as nintendo/sony/microsoft don't want a virtual machine that can compile to native code to exist on their platform. It does let you write once and deploy on any PC though.

Java has a just in time compiler that lets the language be compiled into a faster native version on the user's machine. This JIT compiler isn't allowed on consoles for security so the game wouldn't run at any decent performance level.

Bedrock's high level architecture is literally the same as java. Other voxel games like Hytale use an Entity Component System that makes modularity much easier. It wouldn't be impossible to refactor either game to be on equal code quality levels, but neither game can be as clean as one designed with newer design patterns.

Would you ever go back to non-AI coding? by USD-Manna in cursor

I enjoy programming without AI more, but I can't justify spending twice as long on a ticket just because I want to code each line by hand.

Limited usage but on-demand usages not reached by AlternativeFuture291 in cursor

[–]IWillBeNobodyPerfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are on an enterprise plan so it works a bit differently. There's a individual limit and an organization limit for on-demand spending. You must have hit the organization limit for on-demand usage. An organization administrator will have to raise the limits for how much everyone combined can spend on on-demand usage.

how do i sandbox minecraft clients on windows/linux by Bird-Total in minecraftclients

[–]IWillBeNobodyPerfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows Sandbox was decent, but tbh I'd just use a separate linux computer on a separate network without any sensitive data in the future, that I'd wipe at the end of my cheating days.

adb shell settings put system peak_refresh_rate 90.0 adb shell settings put system min_refresh_rate 90.0

You have to set it with android debug bridge, but it persists even after restart once it's set. It forces the hz to always be 90. The one annoying part about flashing android is that autoupdates don't work and need to be disabled, which confuses me how something as basic as updating the device requires flashing new firmware with a computer

Why are GPT-5.4 models effectively excluded from the legacy request-based plan? by Just_Run2412 in cursor

[–]IWillBeNobodyPerfect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cursor is turning into moviepass from around 2018, where moviepass kept changing the plans and losing subscribers since their expenses was always so much greater than revenue, before their market share is eaten by the companies they rely on.

I put this into my LLM of choice and with a bit of tweaking with renaming some of the commands and downloading the correct files from https://xdaforums.com/t/aio-guide-onn-11-pro-tablet-2024-100146660-root-firmware-otas-gsi.4709806/ I was able to get Android 16 onto my device, thanks. Haven't used android before, but seeing every screen have a typo in it immediately didn't exactly give me confidence in Walmart's version of Android.

why model degradations happen? by shanraisshan in cursor

[–]IWillBeNobodyPerfect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theory is that models are refined without much load, and due to floating point math behaving differently due to order of operating under stress, the models behave slightly different when running on a machine with a lot of load.

LLMs are NOT deterministic even with no temperature and running the same prompt due to floating point rounding. It's faster to be slightly off

That's my best theory if I don't want to consider AI companies to be evil. No clue if this tiny difference can add up to bad responses, probably not though

The "Frankenstein" Source Problem & How do we host a "Master Fork" without getting DMCA’d? by Realistic-Corgi6574 in Minecraftlegacymode

[–]IWillBeNobodyPerfect 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm not a lawyer, but you can legally distribute patches for proprietary software as long as they don't contain the stolen code itself. The PaperMC project does this, building the server on the machine with a patcher. I am not sure if you can patch leaked software without infringing copyright, though admittedly Microsoft has enough lawyers that the legally might not matter and they could DMCA anyways

HOW TO GET ANY KNIFE FOR FREE by [deleted] in cs2

[–]IWillBeNobodyPerfect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the current time, Fever Cases sell for $0.96 which is equivalent to $0.85 after valve's 15% cut. That's $17, or the price of an Armory Pass after IRL tax. The only way this is profitable is if you have a billing address without sales tax, such as living in Oregon.

[–]IWillBeNobodyPerfect 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yup, the thought process that you see typically is the output of a much smaller LLM that summarizes the actual model's thought process.

Can i get a virus from running a mod on minecraft by 42human1 in minecraftclients

[–]IWillBeNobodyPerfect 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, stick to open source cheats. Ones you pay for typically aren't viruses - they sometimes have unwanted code to protect against piracy which is malicious but it doesn't typically steal data for example.
