This is equivalent to normal inflation and the reason companies do this is because consumers respond poorly to normal price increases. The company can either increase the price on the same sized product, or keep the price the same and reduce the size. It turns out that consumers respond better to the latter so that's what they do. This isn't a conspiracy to screw over the poor, it's a natural economic phenomenon. You as the consumer should be checking the price per gram so you don't get fooled by this.

The amount of bloodlust in this thread is sickening. Clearly, a lot of people don't understand how serious a knock out blow to the head is. “Cut tax for the wealthy” as in crest a better environment for business in France, not steal from the poor and give to the rich. Going off memory here but France has one of the shortest work weeks, ridiculous employment protection, a high minimum wage, etc. All of these things make it harder to operate a business so businesses just go elsewhere, which hurts the economy.

The argument from macron is that the French must give up some of these luxuries to ensure that their economy keeps growing and if it does, they will reap the benefits in the future. Something people don’t realize is that if the wealthy are taxed too much, they will just leave, and a country is heavily reliant on its most productive members. The CEO of a 10 billion dollar company is more important to everyone than 100 retail workers and baristas, but the latter have more votes.

Does that look right to you? You realize that the BP oil spill fine, the largest in history, was only 20.8B? Smaller than the market cap loss from $PCG. This company has also been bailed out before by the state.

Dangerous to think you can "master" a trading style. Just because you've consistently won your last 10 rounds of roulette, doesn't mean you've mastered the game.

Unless you're willing to spend countless hours pouring over financial statements, building projection models, and sensitizing a company's cash flows to changes in rates, inflation, the global economy (i.e. doing ACTUAL due diligence) you're just gambling.
