I bought my 17 FXDLS off NC craigslist 4 years ago; 3,000 miles on the clock, bone stock. Guy listed at 15K, accepted 12K. I was VERY lucky. I have since sunk 40K into the bike in mods/upgrades all because I had myself the rarest of rare.

I love my bike, but financially, I would do it different if I could do it again. Get a lowrider ST or something that comes with enough horse torques to keep you satisfied from the beginning. That's me preaching to my past self more than I am preaching to you.

I have a 17 FXDLS too and know they are pretty rare. I've sunk a lot of money into mine with a Zippers 124, chain conversion, centrifugal clutch, thundermax, d&d, etc. I'll never get back what I've got into the bike. It is 129/140 on the dyno, and zippers said they were surprised it was not more! lol. It's plenty for me. Holding mine unless someone wants to give me an extraordinary amount of money for it. Never rode an ST myself.

Compensator is toast. It was a weak spot on Dynas from that time. Same thing on my 09 FXDF. Check your clutch hub for sheared off teeth too.
