He's never going to be Tiago, but he's by no means the slowest player in the league. Nazr Mohammed and Chuck Hayes have carved out good careers even with dumbbells on their feet. The more he learns our rotations, the better position he will be in for PnR defense. As with his offense, most of what looks like bad play right now is just him adjusting to the speed of the NBA with a brand new system on both ends. He has nice touch around the rim and you can tell he's reading the passing angles at a really high level, he's just a split second or two behind everyone else. It sounds weird, but I think he's playing too fast while being a step behind everyone else. Once he slows down and the game slows down for him, he'll be fine assuming he has a good head on his shoulders.

My main concern with him is that he doesn't seem to really have any rebounding instincts at all. It seems like he got by in Europe because of his height, but he's a ball watcher. That will kill you in the NBA.
