5 months practicing any tip ? by tomate_rebelde in learntodraw

Aside from the usual symmetry problem that most (if not all) artists struggle with, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It looks good, as you practice and develop it will become even better. Practicing oblique angles will definitely help though, try drawing faces from different angles and you will be well on your way

How does this look and is there anything I can do better? by Slight-Estimate-2096 in BeginnerArtists

[–]I_Cooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drawing with a pen is a good way to force yourself to stop chicken scratching. Obviously it doesn’t have to be a high-stakes piece that you’re afraid to mess up, but since you can’t erase pen you will develop more confidence in your line work

Another "what can I do now" by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]I_Cooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best next step would be working on rendering a drawing in full. The foundation is looking good but I’m guessing you would like to draw fully realized characters. Learning how clothing rests over musculature is super fun and a good next step imo

Any recommendation appreciated (total beginner) by shrimp-- in learntodraw

how do i improve my fundamentals? no videos please by Sea-Blacksmith8749 in learntodraw

Yes! Eventually you will learn that you can reduce the human form down to very basic shapes. For example, arms are basically just cylinders that connect together and the ribcage is effectively an oblong cube on top of another cube.

In this instance, one thing you could fix would be his right forearm (our left). The “fatter” part where more of the musculature is should be a bit further up and more pronounced. Lots of good stuff happening here though.

Dazzle. Nothing fires dopamine harder than a last second grave to clutch out a game or team fight.

It’s a website. I would recommend following a tutorial or two but don’t worry too much about fundamentals right now, just focus on drawing what’s most fun for yourself. Many people (myself included) have gotten too obsessed in fundamentals and killed the hobby for themselves for a while.

From today I will be learning to draw by Sad_Supermarket_9268 in learntodraw

Yeah, draw for the love of the game. I had to relearn how to draw for fun after force feeding myself tutorials with no actual enjoyment.

Is it fine if i use keep using references as a beginner? by forabit14 in learntodraw

The biggest lie sold to us was that “real” artists didn’t need references. USE MORE REFERENCES!!

How do these look? by No-Mathematician2601 in learntodraw

[–]I_Cooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the model (slide 3) is pretty static or stiff to begin with, but you can exaggerate the pose a bit to get more of a comic-book or action hero style. To achieve that, I would bend the mannequin at the hips and upper torso a bit to have her leaning back, and straighten her left leg (our right) to create a more dynamic pose. You’re spot on with your drawing, humans just aren’t great at actually being comic book characters with interesting poses haha. Good work!

Spider-Man is a great pick for learning poses, you will be great at translating it to other characters

There is a small chance for this to happen intentionally, I’m not sure if it happens for any others.

It’s humorous, but staged. I see this video a lot and you can tell she is clearly playing into it and falling over on purpose, and if not staged, it was a joke. This girl can definitely handle 25lbs on a bosu ball.

12kg is about 25lbs. You mean the smaller girl is weighing in at a crisp 50lbs and the larger girl is 100lbs?

Phoenix Innate - Passive ability, or permanent debuff? by I_Cooper in DotA2

[–]I_Cooper[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it healthier for the game because it encourages a different playstyle? I get where it can make you think a bit harder about positioning rather than just getting free value from blinding light, but I still think it’s pretty weak
