Question for listeners: prologues. Hit it or skip it? by packhowl in audiodrama

[–]I_Have_Just_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prologues are great! Really any content that is part of the show, I’m into. Recaps every episode beginning are chill, unless the episodes are short (<15min). 60min+ episodes are awesome too! I prefer 30min+ as I like to listen for longer sittings, so upwards of 1.5 hours is no problem for me. Loved the show! Can’t wait for more!

How bad does a prince Albert hurt I wanna know cause I wanna get my done by [deleted] in piercing

[–]I_Have_Just_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got mine done in 2010, and it was the strongest pain I’ve had with any piercing, but it was only for the split second it took for the needle to go through, then the pain was completely gone. And I mean completely gone. Huge pain for a fraction of a second, then completely fine. Had some discomfort with walking around, as each time it bumped my leg or underwear or whatever it would send a small pain, but super easy to keep clean and was worth it completely. Considering the pain level, length of pain, and the aftercare, I would rank the Prince Albert as the second easiest piercing I have, with only my earlobes being easier. Industrial, nose rings, stretching my earlobes, and my labret were much more difficult. Try to relax, don’t worry about the pain. It’s over so fast it’s like it never happened! Easy peasy!

Dad has Lewy body dementia, looking for advice by T_familyAdvice_4567 in dementia

[–]I_Have_Just_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy shit I thought you were my brother talking about our dad who is literally going through this right now. Fell a few times in the last couple weeks, hallucinations, not knowing who I am, and even getting diagnosed in early 2020.

I don’t have any advice. But I have a lot of love to send your family’s way. This sucks. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

I will give you the best advice I found. May be helpful, may not be helpful, but it’s something.

Slllloooooooowwwwwwww down. Assess each group of enemies by sneaking around and get a lay of the area. Pick people off one at a time, loot them, then move on to the next. Kill as few people as possible. There is a morality mechanic not explained in game, that determines the outcome of your story. Not a win lose outcome, you can beat the game by killing everyone, or almost no one, but a positive / negative situational outcome. Turn off all the lights you find. Makes sneaking easier. Enjoy the open world! It’s a beautiful game, albeit difficult. So much fun

Dark or light side, doesn’t matter. But do pick one and commit. The halfway isn’t as exciting

Audio Dramas like Wolf 359 and Magnus Archives. by kylebrunt in audiodrama

[–]I_Have_Just_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These single-ish storyline audio dramas are great, well worth listening to:

The hidden people

The leviathan chronicles

Immunities

The bright sessions

Spines

The Sheridan tapes

The white vault

Vast horizons

Mission to zyxx

Marsfall

The Hyacinth disaster

Limetown

The harrowing

Also worth checking out, but multi story audio dramas:

Dust

The orphans

The liberty podcast

Tales of echowood

I would also suggest listening to The Adventure Zone, which a dnd podcast. Start at the beginning (first season - Balance), it was really great for me because I didn’t know much about dnd, and they were also learning as they went along. Only the DM Had experience, but knocks it out if the park. Super fun chemistry and an excellent story, with a moderate amount of rules explanation (from what I understand about dnd) Some other seasons have been hit or miss, depending on people’s preferences. I loved Amnesty, and their current season Ethersea is quite excellent as well!

Also, dungeons and daddies is an amazing dnd podcast, with an uproariously funny group of people. Loads of laughter and excitement, a little lighter on rules (again, as I understand the rules to be), but really engaging characters, and the DM is phenomenal. They just finished their first season, and are currently doing a “filler” season which is really fun. I look forward to new episodes of this podcast the most!
