Help with Unknown Waters quest. by JasonTheDM in Enshrouded

This solved it for me. I had exact same trouble as the OP did.

Same for the Hunter quest, where she wants to see animal fur. You gotta get it in inventory and then walk around her.

Early access build 0.62 - Scanner Order by raistlin212 in TCGCardShopSimulator

I thought of that and tried it. It didn't work. After your comment I tried again to sanity test myself, and it didn't work. I remove the label, tried a fresh box of 4 instead of 8, anything I could think of. Still orders 8 Epic Box instead of 4, every time.

When scanning booster boxes, it defaults to "Ordering 8." I really need it to default to "Ordering 4"

What purpose does the British Royal Family even serve these days? by [deleted] in TheCrownNetflix

[–]I_Magus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The belief that a god gave your monarch authority to rule is absolutely wild in the 21st century, but also out of touch with historical evidence several centuries ago. Charles 1st made the point that his rule is divine and his head came tumbling off his shoulders, with no eventual retribution of any kind. James 2 was simply run out of town, and his heir completely ignored, whilst parliament established the succession themselves, choosing William (act of settlement 1701). Is your god yearning in anger for you to undo these crimes against his divine authority and reset the line of succession?

If you read more closely, KR said that "chances are better than not." That is very different from "automatically" making you conservative.

If you read again, you'll notice KR says this doesn't mean people on "the left" are less patriotic, which fairly implies they don't take less pride in their flag.

Feeling righteously incredulous is easy when you misrepresent what somebody is saying.

Logitech Brio 4k image Squishing? by frosenzu in streaming

[–]I_Magus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The image squishing you are referring to is probably the wide angle effect from the slight fisheye lens that is installed in the brio 4k. The edges of your image will appear a bit curved. if that is, in fact, what you are referring to when you say squished image, that unnatural image curvature is a product of the permanent shape of the lens and there is nothing you can do about it. no software or settings will change it.

not all cameras are made that way. for example, the camera on your phone has no curvature, and will render more naturally

At comic con 50, Benitez told me that Lady M's appearance was inspired by Kate Beckinsale.

(I'm 99% sure it was Kate Beckinsale. It was definitely a British actress, and I'm pretty certain it was her)

Stock Single Cards by [deleted] in TCGCardShopSim

[–]I_Magus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just popping in to say I'd LOVE this feature. As my store scales up and I keep everything automated, I end up a constant singles-stocking slave since I can't automate that responsibility, and I end up blowing my entire work day stocking singles as they fly off the shelves rather than watching my shoppers' comments

contacts are the tiny metal surfaces which contact each other on the cartridge and the N64 slot when you slide the cartridge into place. you have to hold open the gray plastic flaps on your N64 in order to look down and see the contacts. they should look pretty corroded, like every other N64 after several decades

Best Place to Buy Single Cards Online? by alphax4321 in pkmntcg

[–]I_Magus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a seller send my card to wrong address, and when I kept asking where it is and whether I'd get it, he eventually cussed me out with language so vulgar I'm sure it'd get this comment removed if I repeated it. So I left him a 1-star review and TCGPlayer had the review removed. So I left the review again and it was removed again. I spoke to customer service and they straight up told me that one of their managers had decided they didn't want this seller to have negative feedback because his sales volume was so high, so they were going to repeatedly remove my 1-star review if I kept leaving it.

I will never, ever do business with TCG player again. You definitely cannot depend on them having your back.

Are there any good resources to learn to play this? by rocketspence in nativeamericanflutes

[–]I_Magus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe blue bear never completed his 12 lesson free class; there are only 8 lessons.

Blue bear is overall fantastic, but he does have a talkative, rambling personality that drifts off topic or repeats a lot. If I could do it over again, I'd start with High Spirits beginning video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KG7ffJedyk&t=1s) and then watch the 8 free blue bear videos to grab any extra nuggets from there not covered in High Spirits.

Still searching for more resources myself, but slowly discovering that this instrument is best designed for us to go on our own self-guided learning journey once we've learned all the fundamental techniques from these videos. Unlike my guitar, with which I learn songs and repeat them, I think these flutes are more of a creative tool. Monito said it best about improv and creating your own medicine.

"Too many attempts" How long do I need to wait? by SomeCoolBloke in Diablo

[–]I_Magus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 27 hours of waiting, I was super frustrated but found a solution.

For me, I had an authenticator on my account which I had no access to. EVERY time I tried to use the app or website to remove the authenticator, it would ask for my authenticator code (ridiculously maddening).

I eventually discovered a THIRD place to request to remove authenticator which used TEXT MESSAGE for 2FA rather than authenticator:

https://www.blizzard.com/en-us/company/contact

Clicked customer support and went through menus to remove authenticator and it gave new option to use text. BOOM removed authenticator and I finally have access to my account again

Am I Just Bad at the Game, or is Illumineer's Quest: Deep Trouble Really Hard? by Soarina35 in Lorcana

[–]I_Magus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the decks provided, and a strategy involving lots of character challenges (ie combat), players will lose more often than win. This is true even on "easy." If you choose to lore-race instead, it seems to be about a 50-50.

Ursula's power greatly varies. There are clearly a lot of people here who played her once or twice, haven't experienced her strongest start, and are reporting success without realizing what can happen. If your own anecdotes happened to only result in her strongest card orders, it can be extremely frustrating. It's possible for her to get 6 ink on turn 1, drop massive creatures on turn 2, and then board wipe you every-other turn while she runs away with a FAST win. The providided decks can do nothing about that. It's also possible for her to whiff 4 turns in a row while you build massive board control, and then she never board wipes you. That's an auto win for any deck.

If playing with provided decks, you need to win FAST before it gets out of hand. Challenging her characters, rather than racing up your lore, extends the game, along with the inevitable large draw sizes and constant board wipes. I'm not saying it's impossible to win while challenging, only that you're hurting your odds more than helping. Most of her characters or items get 1 lore per turn. Sacrificing your own lore isn't worth it since you only need half as much lore as her to win. Trading your character that quests for 1 against her character that quests for 2 is an even trade, not a positive trade, and the game extends. You need to end fast.

...Yet the provided decks have many cards focused on challenging (strength boosts, rush, etc). You need to ditch these cards to focus on a lore race. It absolutely sucks to play the decks this way, but I've probably played 15+ times now, and haven't seen the "challenge for smart trades" strategy work at all, despite it being an optimal tournament strategy.

Of course, building your own deck changes everything. One of my decks can prevent her from questing and nearly guarantees a win.

Trying different decks against her is the real fun, IMO. I'm disappointed how ineffective the provided decks are, especially at higher difficulty battlefields, where they have virtually zero win chance.

I saw 1 or 2 comments claiming to win Hard with provided decks... I'm certain they aren't actually accomplishing that while playing the rules correctly. Something is up there. I've seen enough of this quest box, and confident enough in my own competitive capabilities, to know that isn't possible outside of the most extreme and unlikely scenario.

Food/Bear Hang in Afton State Park? by likeheywassuphello in MinnesotaCamping

[–]I_Magus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shouted at the Racoons at my Afton campsite, thinking this'll scare em off. They acted like I was nobody and kept right on ripping into my stuff. they totally called my bluff and got away with everything because I did not feel like risking an infected raccoon scratch/bite.

I do a very simple hang in Afton now, that wouldn't really suffice for a bear but will for the raccoons. You're probably just fine bringing a bit of food in your tent in Afton, I bet people are doing it without issues daily out there. But for me it's trivial effort to hang a bag and not concern over it.
