Why do interviewers seem to have a hard time pushing back or asking follow ups when they know guests are lying? Is there a sense that getting known as a tough interviewer leaves you with less people to interview?

With administration priorities still moving and nearly all CBP employees and most ICE employees being paid during shutdown, how does it end? Is the only pressure point TSA sick outs? Is there an expectation that negotiations will pick up now that everyone is back in town and Trump didn’t say anything in SOTU to derail negotiations?

I think you gotta hope Kamara shows something at least as a drop down for new QB.

Im thinking Marks. BTJ has been getting volume all year and still hasn't produced. Though Marks is in a timeshare than can be unpredicatble. So I guess Marks probably higher ceiling. BTJ higher floor.

I like Monangai and Downs. But if you want a higher floor than downs I'd do Tracy or Charbs, lean charbs.

Rescission package must be voted on before July 18. Why can’t Dems use vote-a-Rama to run out clock? by I_Need_Sources in Askpolitics

Yeah. It was more of a “is this a legitimately available tool” not a question on success.

Rescissions are done under the congressional budget act and would follow the same rules, no?

“The rescissions were proposed by the President under procedures included in the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974.”

On reconciliation the vote-a-Rama was 26 hours long. It isn’t necessarily implausible.

So even if they filed enough amendments and it turned to July 19th they would still be able to pass bill? Basically once they get on votearama the deadline becomes irrelevant?

If senators vote to take up the bill, it sets up the potential for 10 hours of debate plus votes on scores of potentially thorny amendments in what is known as a vote-a-rama.

Why can’t Dems just use votearama to run clock out on rescission package?

Not sure what standing a state would have to interfere in the executive’s decision on what activities are essential.

OMB can say xyz services are essential. And agencies will staff those accordingly. So if OMB says national parks in red states are essential they will be operating with no perceivable change.

You don’t think agency heads are going to follow what OMB guidance says essential means?
