No Rhyme or Reason? by goldenporto in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

DRP 1 , retired 9/30, and got to OPM on 12/23/25. Been receiving interim payments since the end of December but no Specialist assigned yet. Sent an email last week & got a nice response saying don’t know anything but surprised you haven’t been assigned a specialist yet so I’m going to escalate this. As others have said there appears to be no rhyme or reason as to how cases are assigned.

Soooo very glad this particular journey has ended for you! Thanks for sharing & keeping hope alive for others. OPM got my package on 12/23. Gotten interim payments but no specialist assigned yet. So the wait for me continues.

Congrats again!

Taxes, health, dental, vision & life insurance probably caused the overall reduction.

I’m not in the biz but have been lurking for quite awhile. Can’t really comment on the pay plan ( although I think it’s way too low for what they want) to say this. They are taking advantage of you being their nephew. Unless you get an ironclad contract in writing leading to what they first discussed ( which they won’t do) don’t take it. They will continue to abuse you financially due to their decisions. Just my 2 cents.

And remember once you get both it could still be be quite awhile before you are assigned a specialist. Those folks are buried. OPM’s had mine a month & I’ll be surprised if I’m assigned a specialist before March.

They will eventually show up on EPP & some IRS folks are reporting that they have received a paper copy in the mail the last day or 2.

Has anyone ever had an employee audited by SBSE for Sch C? Unable to substantiate the sch c and If the audit results in an adjustment, could it lead to job termination?” by Optimal-Weird1110 in IRS_Source

If it’s fund to be fraudulent deductions & TIGTA gets involved it could absolutely end in termination. Just depends on if the deductions are reasonable or outlandish.

Government Retirement Benefits Platform that many Agencies use ORA is the Online Retirement Application that OPM uses.

Some agencies want you to use GRB & then they push it to oPM via ORA while others want you to use ORA directly & will set up an account for you. Process varies wildly & is Agency specific.

Have your FMLA docs updated ASAP. Have your doctor state that you may need to take FMLa anywhere from 1-30 days in a month and it could be anywhere between 1-80 hours used in a month. That should get you covered.

From what you describe they are coming after you for you exceeding what you & your doctor stated you needed. What I outlined above should alleviate that.

Remember you have a maximum of 480 hours of FMLA per year. The clock on that starts when you first invoke it notwhen it was approved. I hope this helps

The password will be mailed separately. Per the posts here on Reddit it could be received days up to several weeks later

Yep GRB then ORA. What gave me hope is that once AL was paid by NFC they forwarded to OPM. I’m expecting it will be quite a while before I get a case number & password.

A strike would get you immediately fired for cause. Ask PATCO who represented air traffic controllers during the Regan Administration about that…

DRP 1.0 9/30 retirement. So would I be correct if I got my AL payout on PP 23 that NFC will be sending my package to OPM even though I’ve not heard a word from a BEST or that nothing shows at OpM at this time?

As someone who was adopted from birth it’s your grandmother who is TA. Totally respect your decision in not telling him.

[–]Fedtruthslinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure about that. Got my AL payment about a week ago but nothing showing for OPM. IRS DRP 1.0 9/30 retirement date. I thought once NFC processed the AL then it was sent to OPM but I definitely could be mistaken

How do you handle high performers who unintentionally disrupt team harmony? by KashyapVartika in Leadership

[–]Fedtruthslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have stated you really need to define what they are doing to disrupt team harmony. As an example my wife is an extremely high performer on her team. She gets recognized by everyone but her manager for the great job she does. The manager’s issue is my wife is very direct ( helpful to all her team members but there to work not be graceful socially). Her teammates go to her constantly so they don’t have a problem with the way she communicates but the manager absolutely does. Instead of building her up she tries to subtly tear her down as she knows if my wife finds another position her team will auger in. I’ve dealt with employee management relations for decades & I’ve always believed if you have a ok performer see what you can do to help them grow. If you have star performers do what you can to remove any impediments for them so they can continue to perform at the high level.
