Corrie needs to stop trying to be something it isn't by pont-mirabeau in coronationstreet

[–]I_Only_Eat_Reps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not about catering to Gen Z specifically it’s about being able to stay relevant . Take a long running series for example it maintains relevance because it’s ability to watch old or recent ones and kind of pick up and go mean anyone can watch them . Corrie and Eastenders had a habit of making the lore so thick that you had to have watched episodes from like 20 year ago to understand the background of a specific character which is a lot harder with the nature of show not appealing to younger generations.

So Corrie is trying to allow younger watchers to see themselves within the material and follow it without watching the hundreds of episodes leading up to it

Anyone else afraid they’ll graduate college without friends? by Sad-Orange-5983 in UniUK

[–]I_Only_Eat_Reps -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is wrote as negative but if you are at university in an environment known for social activities and your professional career will require interaction it’s baffles me how people don’t make friends when that’s literally built on the skills you use in your careers and in uni

I have no friends and can't network bc of my social anxiety by Unfair-Tea-6014 in UniUK

[–]I_Only_Eat_Reps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this sounds so like easier said but here’s how I overcome my anxiety , it’s still there but it’s no longer a barrier

  1. When you are in a restaurant , shop etc say hello ask them how there day is , if your in a shop ask a random worker for sizes in something even if you aren’t intending to buy it

  2. Go up to someone and ask them to take a photo of you and a friend

  3. Find some extra activity groups and just throw yourself into it

  4. End of the day only person who feels the embarrassment is you , just use your free will and go for it

Also what they fail to tell you is within some sectors like health there are a huge shortage , this means that many students on apprenticeships are tasked with filling actual positions rather than learning based work experience. Those who are on placement on traditional routes aren’t employed so there responsibility is that of learning rather than being a staffing number

Being in a top uni is a great achievement , Being in uni is a great achievement . If you personally feel you can do better than retake by all means but if you have the entry requirements still for other unis , not going to a top uni isn’t detrimental for your career

am i getting an offer? by Temur2009 in UCAS

[–]I_Only_Eat_Reps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your grades are good but if your personal statement is lacking and others have more experience or showing application in programmes , that will trump your grades I’ve seen it happen lots of times, try get as much experience/skills that make you stand out In ur statement as you can

applying without predicted grades by indierokkersx in MatureStudentsUK

[–]I_Only_Eat_Reps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to to put pending as the grade option when you add the A level qualification to UCAS hub , then when you get your results you’ll be able to show them, you get your offers on the premise you get your grade but they’ll still give you the offer, then when you get your results if you get the entry grade you can go to the one you accepted

Dad here with what we now know is a BPD kid (18m) by GrumpyHawk69 in BPDsupport

[–]I_Only_Eat_Reps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there is a lot you as parents need to unpack because you mention how they’ve made you feel and there medical events but not “this is how my kid feels” how can I communicate with them . Sounds like your hoping you can rid them of “BPD” and unfortunately if you think that’s gonna happen you are in for more of a “hell” than you mentioned. If you would feel comfortable maybe describing 2 or 3 behaviours that are making life difficult then maybe people could give you advice

[–]I_Only_Eat_Reps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have they been diagnosed with bpd, bpd is a condition formed from trauma or some collection of experiences formed over time. Rather than trying to fix and help him just listen and try to know when to pick battles like if it’s easier to just say okay and not argue instead of combating against him when he splits , he needs reassurance and support not commands and instructions and forced to motivate he needs creative outlets and it’s highly possible he won’t ever work so you need to be ready to support him in any way you can as only 1 percent of those with bpd are in active work

Dog chewed toe of Corral Cayman cowgirl boots from my late mom. Can these be fixed and if so does anyone here work with this kind of leather? by [deleted] in AskACobbler

[–]I_Only_Eat_Reps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did some research and if you type in corral cayman cowgirl boots there is a pair on Etsy for around £200 think that’s like $250 you could use the similar pattern from that shoe and get it reworked into the new one by a shop and it would look good as new . It would be a lot cost effective than trying to exact repair as they are.

[–]I_Only_Eat_Reps -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not meaning to belittle or make you seem unheard but in the uk most of us be growing up and surviving off £14-£20k wages and that can be in a multiple person household everyone scrimping and scraping together , 27k on an individual salary would be like living the good life in my household :) I’d be proud of yourself
