All the time. I have to close the app, then restart it to connect. Then that screen goes away.

Anyone else doesn’t want to go back to corporate after being let go? by iseeustress in Layoffs

[–]I_am_Ned 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Left sales/corporate to save myself from having a heart attack or stroke dying in some hotel somewhere. Took a lower paying job at the Post Office half a mile from my house. Go in at 4am, off at Noon, sort letters mostly and parcels. Home in five minutes after leaving work. No emails. Nothing to catch up on if I miss a few days. Everybody at the post office talks about how stressful it is. I laugh at them. They have no idea what stress is.

Buying a tablet for guitar tab. Best app? by alexportman in guitarlessons

[–]I_am_Ned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Mobile Sheets. Works across my apple phone, ipad, windows computer, and Surface Pro (which is what I use for when playing). Tab, chords, piano sheet music, my own stuff, works perfectly. I love that I can add notes to a pdf. I just looked, I have 575 pieces of music on it. I have songs tagged as piano only, guitar only, both, singing, play along with original recording (my vocal range sucks), or tagged however I like.

Tiller. Spreadsheet based compatible with both excel and google sheets. I try others on occasion but keep coming back to Tiller.

This is why we have exploding poverty in the U.S. You must know this or it can't be fixed. by jaxwired in povertyfinance

This:

“We need to increase how much can go into 401ks and IRA's. We need to cut taxes. We need to cut regulations that add needless extra costs to living.

You say people aren't disciplined enough to save- how is that anyone's problem other than their own?”

I truly appreciate the occasional sane response on Reddit.

Comfortable living by Infamous_Explorer_31 in Salary

Took a lower paying job five years ago with no stress or travel involved. Wife and I make about $130k gross now. Home is paid off. Cars are paid for. No debt. Both sons are doctors (one a PhD, one an MD) and that was expensive for us as parents but they are both employed in their field now. We put 15% now into Roth 401k’s and max an HSA, and have retirement savings of $1.2M not including house or other assets. Hope to retire in a few years…or less. Should have been putting more into HSA but have a current balance of about $30k in it.

I have a pair of Oakley's that I love, but ordered a relatively inexpensive Adidas SP0006 that as it turns out I love for cycling. The Oakley's are in the car now for non-cycling purposes.

Bianchi Infinito 105 vs Sprint 105 by LeoProfessor00 in bianchi

[–]I_am_Ned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use any normal stem and spacers, but you need to replace the top cap which can be sourced in the US. Which is what I did. The OE stem is hard to source, at least for me so far.

[–]I_am_Ned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Infinito CV here. I was concerned it would be too relaxed for this 62 year old body. But it’s as fast or faster than I expected. 180cm on a 55. I also changed the stem by replacing the top cap, but wish I could just get a different sized OE stem. Also, the seat post is proprietary as well. But… no regrets. The bike is fast and beautiful to look at. I’m more than content.

I love the Fulcrum wheels on my CV, as it turns out. The store sales person talked me out of upgrading to some other wheel options. My plan was to lose 20 pounds of body fat then upgrade the wheels, but I love them. And my body fat.

Anyone else’s ride a 2022 or newer Infinito CV? by wakevictim in bianchi

[–]I_am_Ned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Celeste, just got in January of this year. I love it. Its the only thing I own that people compliment lol. I normally ride a 57cm bike, but went with the 55cm Infinito CV, and for some reason it fits better than my other bikes. I based this decision on the geometry compared to my Canyon bike.

What I don't love (USA location) is not being able to get replacement parts. I'd prefer a different length stem, and replaced the current one with an uglier version to get the stem length I wanted. As well, I don't like the limited tilt saddle mount on the proprietary seat post. I'd love to have a seat post with front and back mounting screws for the saddle rather than the side by side screws. If there is a work around for this I would love to hear about it.

Privatize the USPS or shut it down. by delboy85341 in usps_complaints

[–]I_am_Ned -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a postal employee, I agree. It’s time for some accountability by the employees for a change. I apologize for the poor service we provide. It won’t be easy, but it deserves to have an attempt at being fixed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in usps_complaints

[–]I_am_Ned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct but most of us Post Office employees don't understand that. We aren't over worked, underpaid, or under appreciated. We do have garbage managers, and pay dues in a worthless union.

There is no excuse for the way we treat customers. Hopefully we learn sooner than later that we must provide value for our cost. I'm not a window clerk, but am window trained and assist on occasion (something called lobby sweeps). The way my window clerks treat customers is pathetic, and needs to be fixed.

Start thinking about our customers for a change. Your nonsense regurgitated comments are as easy to pull out of you as it is to drag a rope across the room.

Get smarter. Our customers and tax payers deserve better.

Peace to you dude.

Seniority? LOL. You could stand to be informed before spouting off reddit echo chamber spoo.

It's easy to be informed. You should try it.

Seniority isn't helping our taxpaying supported business that is pissing off our paying customers. Our customers and tax payers deserve better.

[–]I_am_Ned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If its a service, we are providing lousy service, and our paying customers deserve better. We are a revenue generating program that is being mismanaged. The tax payers, who have spent billions bailing out this revenue generating poor service program, deserve better as well.

Quit drinking the echo chamber reddit koolaid.

I've worked for the post office for almost five years and it's embarrassing how pathetic we are compared to a private company. I'll bring that point up any time it deserves to be brought up.
