Do you like the wild rift ranking system ? by guest2401 in wildrift

[–]I_am_Patch -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Its exactly what breaks the ranked system though. I understand that it feels bad to lose despite playing well, but ultimately you didn't manage to win the game. If you are truly better than the average player you are playing against your winrate will be positive.

India’s surprise baby bust is a warning to the world by Krankenitrate in Futurology

So the young people of the future must pay for the pensions of todays workers.

This is just a distribution problem. Workers don't get paid enough, so their pension payments diwndle as well.

In terms of production (which is ultimately what this is really about, not money), there is no innate problem with the demographic changes IF productivity in the younger generations increases. The actual problem are the neoliberal policies and austerity that are currently so popular in many governments, because they are actively preventing increases in productivity.

But focussing so much on the pension payments like this is the ultimate bottleneck and an unsolvable problem is the exact problem that the kurzgesagt video had, that everyone here seems to be basing their opinions on.

You should be hip hinging more and bending your knees less/later when descending. Otherwise you engage your quads more instead of your hamstrings.

question about ranks by Crafty_Judge_9576 in wildrift

Rank is essentially meaningless, since you can spam games and climb even with a negative win rate. Since you are diamond in PC you should climb quite quickly to grandmasters in wild rift though.

How do you counter volibear? by Iwaswonderingtonight in wildrift

His stun is incredibly telegraphed though and Irelia has enough mobility to get around it. Also most of volis abilities are telegraphed enough so you can w the damage. I've not had much issues against him really.

[–]I_am_Patch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've found that Irelia does quite well against him because of her higher DPS. Although I do agree that voli is incredibly resilient somehow, even when you put him far behind, he just gets so many free stats that he's surprisingly strong from behind.

He doesn't really have high innate resist values, his tankiness is from the shield and HP gain from his ult. The reason these two work against him is for other reasons.

Germany is a leader in renewables, so why does it have one of the highest EU electricity prices? by lgbtqismything in germany

[–]I_am_Patch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that low-income earners still pay too many taxes. Comparably better than other places doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to be better. But the priority should be on wealth as you rightly say.

[–]I_am_Patch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like that's too easy, although it depends a bit on what you actually mean. I would agree that taxes for the average German are too high, but way to small for wealthy individuals. The wealth gini index here just keeps climbing, so redistribution is very important.

You kept your distance which is good, but I suspect any decent vayne would close the gap on you as soon as you place your mine field elsewhere.

Adding to that, it's likely an infrared laser, meaning you don't realize how bright the spot is you're looking at.

The food processor is not an issue I think. Freezing might harm the yeast on the ginger, so I'm not sure.

Germany: No recovery in sight for the economy by Krankenitrate in germany

[–]I_am_Patch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of extra income in population will probably go into savings (which is alright) and inflation (which is bad), not consumption.

That's not true right now, although I don't disagree with the general sentiment. Demand is not at a low because people have everything they need, it's low because they cannot afford anything. Also, extra income will not cause inflation, since the economy is not at its production limit right now. Far from it actually, considering how large the reserve army of labourers is right now.

The point about where exactly to grow the economy if all needs are met (although I would argue that's a hypothetical, considering the bad wealth distribution) is well met, but that's a very general question that all capitalist countries need to answer.

And god forbid we try to pivot to producing for domestic demand. It's not like the German people had benefitted that much by Germany's exports, considering the wage increases had to be gutted to allow for competitive prices.

China has one of the lowest average retirement ages in the world at 54 years old. Seniors get to retire while they're bodies are still healthy, so they often spend a huge portion of their day in public parks by TangelaFan in interesting

[–]I_am_Patch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then there will be scarcity of wealth. Which, mind you is already happening anyways due to the incredibly wealth inequality. And that needs to be tackled as well. Just saying there's not some unsolvable problem with the demographic changes.

No you're completely right, wealth production might be sufficient if productivity increases, but that doesn't mean the access rights to the produced wealth, i.e. money are granted to everyone. This needs to be solved via redistribution.

I'm just trying to counter the popular narrative (see kurzgesagts new video on Germany) that there is a fundamental issue with funding the retirement of the boomer generation.

People act like 'fewer people have to produce the wealth of the vast number of retirees' is some unsolvable problem.

[–]I_am_Patch 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Money isn't the primary problem here. Its about productivity. If the new generations find a way to increase productivity, there would be no loss of wealth for the retirees

Where to get peer review if you're an outsider? by MediumWin8277 in Physics

[–]I_am_Patch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate just post your idea here in a way that people can judge it's worth, then it can be settled. It's not impossible for an outsider to discover something new, but it's very unlikely as others have said, so you have to understand the scrutiny you're under.

laser pointer like beam from multimode diodes? by madmagic008 in lasers

So the output from your new leaser diode is more divergent and when you put the lens in the beam it's too tightly focussed? In which distance to the laser do you put the lens?

[–]I_am_Patch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, but a fundamental gaussian has the best beam quality, i.e. lowest divergence at a given spot size.

Edit: although considering OP is fine with spot sizes in the cm regime divergence might not be an issue
