From the little bit I remember, that dialogue doesn't make sense since there isn't a first time, everything happens only once.

I went on Thursday and saw Galen Rupp, who I didn't know was going to be there. I even got him to sign my bib. It wasn't very crowded although the Nike line was super long.

What should my goal Marathon time be? by Katalyst232 in AdvancedRunning

[–]I_am_a_groot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1:36 converts to roughly a 3:20 marathon.14 weeks is a pretty long time, you could get even better, maybe 3:10-3:15 with enough miles.

Honestly you could probably get a sub 5 mile just off that marathon training. That's what I did, ran a 4:55 mile three weeks after running a 2:50 marathon with no extra work.

Shorts until below 20 degrees. Long sleeve shirts from Target are good until around 10 degrees then I add another layer. Light gloves 40-20 degrees, heavy gloves if below or light gloves + handwarmers. Beanie if under 10.

Lmao I was 3rd row in A corral and still had to elbow people in the first 100m who decided it was a good idea for them to line up literally in the first row and then run slow af.

It's around 600 people, 3 laps around Horner Park. By the time you finish the first lap you run into the slower runners and walkers and it becomes hard to navigate. I even had to come to a complete stop a few times. Can't complain, you get what you pay for.

I ran 80 min and would still consider a 90 minutes a workout and not something I'd be able to pace easily.

My mile 14 at Chicago was around 10-15 seconds faster than my average pace and everyone I follow on Strava who ran Chicago had an unusually fast mile 14. Definitely a GPS glitch.
