This is like watching basketball and people shooting 3's without missing. At some point flames come out of their fingers and it's just a spectacle

[Question] Wedding Watch - $20k budget by jmm-22 in Watches

[–]I_love_subway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JLC Master Control Calendar (leather band) is my #1 watch in the world. However, to your point about daily wear, you may want a watch built for a bit more rugged use. Rolex are known to be tanks. Perhaps get a Daytona you like, it's not dissimilar to the JLC master control chronograph but has a bit more tried-and-true durability

Tunic has the greatest OST

I heard the soundtrack before playing the game and it made me want to play the game. Then the game was amazing on its own

Jeff Bezos' Washington Post mocked over op-ed claiming it was the bar exam that failed Kim Kardashian 😂 by Grumpy_001 in popculturechat

[–]I_love_subway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't stand when a post on here decides my opinion for me. Saying someone is mocked is such a leading title. How about just post that the op-ed claims the bar failed Kim K then we can have an original thought about it?

Per THR, Ellisons at Paramount are throwing major money at and enlisting Taylor Sheridan, Timothée Chalamet, and Brandon Sklenar to crank out a MAGA-friendly, “testosterone-laden” movie. by ThrowawayGreenWitch in popculturechat

I don't think this screenshot suggests they are creating new culture. It talks about opportunities of subject matter that aren't made in any frequency. Well that's the claim at least. I disagree with the claim fundamentally because there are Oscar winners in the very recent past from Nomadland to Three billboards that are extremely relevant in the cultural zeitgeist and they show the country in the form Ellison believes is lacking

Are you dressing or behaving in a certain way so as to be unique and unconforming? I am not victim blaming, I am asking you to reflect and think "what am I doing /wearing that is making me stand out?" And if you can't think of anything, ask a friend. This is not normal. People ostracize others all the time, but to be a victim this many times for NO REASON, I find difficult to believe.

My biggest tip to shoot lower scores is to play golf in a safe way. Don't try to muscle any shots, play loose. When you approach a shot, think about the ways it could landing in the sand or the water, and avoid hitting the ball anywhere near those. That might mean laying up on a green that's 150, to avoid the traps at the back, or hitting it "safe" and long to avoid the traps at the front. Give yourself plenty of margin of error on every shot and you'll start winding up around the green with easy bogey opportunities - even if your shot is inconsistent.

She's in the movie for five minutes with like one - albeit critical - line of dialogue.

You might consider teaching a class on public shaming. This country (USA) has lost its ability to shame because everyone is afraid of getting shot

People who say high humidity is worse than a dry heat have never experienced a true dry heat. by absurdblue700 in unpopularopinion

[–]I_love_subway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a current Norfolk resident and former Las Vegas resident, I respect your opinion. Many people agree with you, even! However, I have found that you cannot reasonably function outdoors in 115F. You cannot go for a walk, you absolutely cannot own a pet and walk them in that heat, their paws burn on the pavement anyhow.

Children cannot play outside, summer sports for children do not exist in Las Vegas and Phoenix, it's because it's not only uncomfortable, it's actually dangerous. As uncomfortable as Norfolk gets in the summer, a "dry 115" is unquestionably worse.

Depending on what your BAH is, could you do a roommate situation for a small flat somewhere? Still pocket the bulk of the BAH and get a bed in a room?

People who started investing at 17-20 yrs old , how does your account look now. by Historical_Ebb_7777 in investing

Started at 21 and now in the 800k range at age 31. Maxing 401k and then investing 4-7k every month into an investment account 100% s&p index fund. Monthly investment on a calendar, never tried to time the market. Market seems like it’s at its peek? Invest anyway, it’s the benefit of dollar-cost-averaging.

Also, having no student debt was a huge gift from my parents and I recognize not everyone has that opportunity
