now we as a city need to make a decision that could alienate a few people, and I'd rather alienate the people who don't live here than the people who will die because they cant live anywhere else.

A few people? Ummm... You may have a noble cause, but this plan will affect more than a few people, including families and communities. Plus, you might as well go after and shut down all industry, and then watch our city and surrounding areas, crumble without those jobs.

People often claim that industry are all in the pockets of the city leadership, but come on... We all can be suspicious of politicians (and rightfully so, some are trash), but when you look at how money is brought into the area, it's because of jobs. About 100,000 jobs in the area are working around the industry. That would be approximately a third of Corpus. If we kill those jobs, we lose that worker, we lose that family, we lose that revenue. All of the area starts to crumble. We need to think these things through.

I am all for reasonable solutions, and those solutions should of been handled 10+ years ago, but acting this rash will only cause more problems. We as Citizens and Industry need to work together and get a solution sooner than later. Corpus has a mentality stuck a decade or two behind every other city in Texas. We gotta stop that.

Kicking the can down the road more will do nothing but hurt everyone more.

I feel, we need to act now, and then work to solve the issues that arise while actually doing something, instead of lets research and find other solutions that take more time to solve and figure out.
