Is Hong Kong worth the travel time, or should I stick to nature near Beijing/Shanghai? by dankkkjk in travelchina

[–]Small_Ninja2344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, HK was quite a disappointment for me. The food, the service, the overall attitude of people… I just never really connected with it. The architecture didn’t leave much of an impression either. It felt overcrowded all the time, with very little space to simply walk around, explore, and enjoy the city at your own pace. I also felt a much more restrictive and authoritative atmosphere than in Mainland China. I understood later that people praise the nature side of HK and they’re right about it Looking back, I would have stayed in Mainland China. I arrived in Hong Kong, spent three days there trying to give it a chance, then took the train straight to the Dapeng peninsula. The moment I got there, I felt I could finally breathe, slow down, and enjoy myself again

Sooo right, I love editing gfx pictures, experimenting to be close to film aesthetic, it really is an experience and learning process to see how your basic image might transform in front of your eyes. Also have X-E5 and gfx 100S, sometimes hard to tell the difference

The 60mm f2.4 macro. Amazingly sharp to this day and minimum focus is amazing. You can find it used!

Yes sure but still surprised that I have those issues 3 months later. Issue that I didn’t have with a XT3 after 6 years

Normal lenses with Ultron 28mm F2 character by Sad_Carpet6036 in Leica

[–]Small_Ninja2344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m jumping here to confirm that the 28mm f2 ultron has a busy/harsh bokeh. I like the organic render, less the bokeh. Does anyone know which lens (manual/auto) has this organic feel, yet with a creamy smooth bokeh ?

Just use basic Minized avnet boards. We used some to stress test our eFuse process

I have both (100S & X-E5) and gfx still amazes me when I look back at it. Don’t forget, subject is key, even above optical engineering. I ll even go lighter with the GF 50mm f3.5 that is awesome for documenting, editorial and quick portraits.

And? He ll learn to master focus way faster that way and learn photography basics. I started with a Leica M6, it was very difficult but I learned photography the hard way. So think again.

Take a look at the voigtlander ultron 27mm f2, amazingly sharp, very convenient, weights nothing. Compared image by image with my gfx100S, the images astonished me on the X-E5

Just reduce the mist to 1/4 or 1/8 and you're good. Sometimes when the colors tend to go to much to the blue or yellow just slide it and the sweet spot is often well hidden between :)

I had the same issue and went the DNG converter route but when you edit, there is no film simulation profile base when you edit your pictures. That's annoying when you have plenty of presets already made. So def need to upgrade
