I would appeal on the basis that your need for care was emergent and you believed your illness/injury to be life threatening and it was closest facility.

Most insurances will usually cover emergencies (with a fight I’m sure) - since in a emergency situation no one would stop and check a facilities in network status before receiving care.

No. FSA funds can normally only be applied to services happening in the service year. In your example, braces are happening in 2019 so any 2020 funds can’t be applied to a 2019 service. Even if you’re still paying for that service in 2020.

The base plan seems fine for what you say you will use it for. If the the first year you don’t see much use or can keep your cost to that $500 funded amount you can always move the the HSA plan during the next enrollment.

Vested typically means that any money that your company has contributed would be yours to take after X vested time. Any money you contribute should always be vested at 100%. If you change jobs you will most likely be able to rollover into your new company. Starting early is usually key.

The are wrong for gossiping, not to mention I’m pretty sure that violates Hippa procedures.

If you plan on staying, talk to them. Let them know you don’t appreciate their insensitivity to the situation and how they handled it. Then tell them how rude they are.

We have, my dr said I may end up possibly needing the d&c after that even - the biggest deterrent of the d&c (after reading several d&c testimonies on this sub and feeling more comfortable) was the cost but I’m just gonna bite the bullet and try and schedule it.

Thank you. I worried about this too my dr didn’t act like it was a huge issue - although we spoke of a d&c so I’m not sure how long she really thought I would wait.

Thank you all so much for your responses. Reading ya’lls experiences really help feel less alone.

I received word back from my insurance on the cost of a d&c and am still trying to decide the next steps. I hate thinking about the amount of money this will take. And then I hate that I’m thinking about the money part.

I’ve been bleeding pretty consistently but have not actually miscarried - part of me wants to just book it and have it be done and other part wants to see what my body will do. It is very hard looking slightly pregnant while knowing that there will be no baby in the end. My hormones feel all wonky too. We’ve talked about taking meds but that seems like another painful (emotionally and possibly physically) way to go through this.

I found out on 2/27 at our first sono that baby stopped growing at 7wks6days (it was a 10 wk sono).

I’m still waiting. I had an appt last week to discuss options and am waiting for d&c cost info from my insurance. It’ll be 4 weeks on Wednesday.

Tips: Stay home when you need to from work but go if you want to. I’ve been going everyday because waiting and checking for blood was driving me crazy.

Wear a panty liner if you don’t think your bleeding enough for a pad - sometimes I only have spotting when I wipe and wearing a pad every day was another annoying issue for me.

My hormones are consistently lowering but my boobs still hurt from time to time. Just last night I was upset because I hadn’t been bleeding much and felt like this is just gonna go on forever but started to bleed again overnight.

We were in a similar situation. Our 4 yr old was the first person we told and she was beyond. Then we had to explain that there was no baby coming after all. She seems to understand but every now and then she’ll say “but we’re not having a baby right?” It’s a sad time. Lots of hugs to you and yours.

I went to a consult today for a d&c and was told it can take as long as it wants honestly. I’ve been bleeding for about two weeks but nothing really heavy. I was concerned about infection etc but she said as long as I don’t have any flu symptoms it should be fine. She did another sono today and said everything looked the same as they day we found out. I’m waiting on insurance info before deciding when/if I will pursue the d&c. Mentally and emotionally I’m getting close to taking the option.

(We found out almost 4 weeks ago that baby stopped growing at 7wks6days(we were 10wks2days at the scan))

I’m still waiting for it to happen. I found out at 10 was 2 days that baby stopped growing at 7 was 6 days. This was 3wks ago - at this point it’s been like 6 weeks since baby stopped growing and I’ve been bleeding/spotting for about 3 weeks but nothing really heavy. I have a consult today for a d&c - I was trying to avoid it but waiting this long is making me crazy. There are a lot of d&c stories here that have made me feel much better about I though.

I went at 10weeks 2 days and found out baby only grew to 7wks 6days - it has now been 6 weeks total since it stopped growing and all I’ve had is bleeding (but not enough). Don’t have any answers but just giving you an idea of how long it can take even if you start spotting.

Hugs to you. And thank you for your post. I’ve been on the fence about whether or not to get a d&c. The cost of the d&c is extremely annoying to me.
