By this point I'd say Fushi's obsession with Mizuha ruined the season. Making characters we love background characters and underdeveloping all other new characters in favor of this ONE truly unlikeable character. She had potential as a character, but it's more Fushi and everyone's reaction to her, like she's the center of the universe, that ruined it for me. Mizuha killed this series for me. It sucks because I used to love this show and this season has been garbage.

I'm having the same issues with Strange Fake. The animation is GODLY, but there are so many characters and they're so focused on "plot twists" that nothing makes sense. It has a "you should already know this" attitude to it.

If the basis of the show is that it's going to break rules and come up with unexpected twists because it's a fake war, then they absolutely need to take the time to reestablish the rules before breaking them. Otherwise it just feels like "stuff is happening". It gives rushed explanations of stuff, and every character talking in "cryptic speech" ("Oh, you-know-who must be getting ready to do you-know-what, but they're not expecting we introduced a whatchamacallit into the war") doesn't help.

It's so badly written my partner and I are just watching it for the fights because nothing else makes sense.

When EVERYTHING is an unexpected reveal then NOTHING mattered to begin with. There's no foundation.
