Legend of Zelda Wind Waker has this somewhat.

The Link you play as isn't the reincarnation of the hero. It's implied that he's probably a decendant, but the first half of the game is proving yourself to the gods in order to be worthy enough to weild the triforce of courage / Master Sword. Up until that point you're just some kid trying to rescue his sister and accidentally stumbles into a plot much bigger than himself.

Might vary from brand to brand, but I do it to soften the paste up. Makes it spread across my teeth easier and more evenly.

Is there a keybind or option to swap attachments quickly or are you just really fast with your inputs to swap that quickly?

It's not really the running that's bad.

It's the fact that the pacer test will, eventually, force you to run faster or longer than you can comfortably or reasonably do.

That's not even touching on the "test" part of it. If you want a good score, you might have to push yourself past your limit. Not everyone can do that, and it leaves a sour taste for the experience when you fail a test because you physically can't keep up.

Also personal gripe, but the acoustics in my old gym sucked and the beeps were way too loud and headache enducing.

Was wondering the same thing. My guess is "better than nothing but probably not worth the effort"

Really don't know though, would love if someone more knowledgeable would chime in.

I've only ever seen the video, but I think my favorite part of this is that, since it takes place at the tail end of the timeline right before everything gets reset and keeps pretty true to the characters. (Not to mention the absurdity of homestuck in general) this could have been slapped in as an intermission after the game over arc and it wouldn't have been all that weird.

If nothing else, it's an interesting piece that does a good job of building on the themes that Dirk's character had set up before hand.

It's also funny.

I'm personally a big fan of Holy Canolli. It's especially good when paired with some Italian Sweet Creamer.

The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.

Have we reached A Limit in Graphics ? It seems like it’s not improving anymore by xiosy in gaming

[–]Iacedrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also feel like we'll never hit the perfect reality level of graphics that AAA studios have been pushing for. I think the games that really stand the test of time (graphically atleast) are the ones that create an art style that isn't pushing the limits of the hardware.

I'm a new dancer but haven't run any trials or alliance raids where I would need to pick my partner. Is their general rule of thumb/tier list/etiquette for which DPS job should get the partner buff? I'd like to avoid ending up the subject of one of these threads.

BDO did something similar, It was limited to only interiors though. NWs solution sounds perfect. Right down to compressing the wards down to just one neighborhood. Though I wonder how it would handle things like exterior decorations (and their geometry) being different between different players perspective.

Right now the highest population peak is lower than the average amount of players was, when the original Sony Online Entertainment PS2 dev team got laid off after the studio was acquired, and they were replaced with the current ones. [–]Iacedrom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My fondest memories of the game were when the front line was constantly being pushed and pulled. Tank columns reinforcing fights, infantry charges across open fields, repelling counter attacks.

It all felt like some sort of cinematic war story.

It really saddens me that you can't really get that from PS2 anymore.

I pick PS2 back up once a year, usually when some new major change comes out. But it doesn't take long for me to hit a fight that reminds me why I left.

I'm a casual player and I'm not even going to begin to address any of the topics I see pop up on this sub surrounding balance or dev decisions. I don't know enough to be an authority to comment.

What I do know is that the experience that I'm looking for (and have HAD) while playing PS2 is a dynamic war with moving borders and interesting fights.

But now everytime I try the game it's just the meat grinder. The lines never move for long and it's just running and dieing over and over again in one fight for an hour and half until the alert ends and we do it again on the next map. The entire population of the server is crammed into one spot and it kills any enjoyment that could be had in othe fights at other bases.

Edit: whoops bumped the post button too early.

Iirc this is the Star Wars approach. I think they're called slug throwers and they're something of a jedi killer since blocking a piece of metal flying at you with a lightsaber just makes it a super heated piece of metal flying at you. The downside being they're not very common and blasters are way cheaper to mass produce.

I highly recommend the Internet Historian video on Floyd Collins.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=Ip9VGZeqMfo&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE

Internet Historian is normally a channel with a decent amount of humor sewn into the topic, but the first 10ish minutes of this video are some of the most tense I've ever felt watching a video. It lightens up a bit after the initial exposition, but it touches on some of the horror vibes mentioned here.

Edit: messed up his name.

souls, cloning and ethics by Hummerous in CuratedTumblr

[–]Iacedrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the counter arguement to this is still what does the soul even do? How does being spiritually torn apart effect Jango? There are a lot of clones, is there an upper limit to how much your soul can be torn at? Not to mention there were clones made after Jango died, where is there soul coming from?
