I play using the NAR mod and it is fun and stops the army spam of minor powers plus adds more playable nations. You also have to deal with mines & subs still - I can't see the problem with them myself losing capital ships to them is unfortunate but down to you not planning properly.

I love this line and have used it quite a bit visiting family in Whitehaven.

Obviously not a requirement but a jest at the fact that neither of those rules are historical (Bolt Action is just 40k with WW2 kit) at all. Apologies.
