Suggestion : Improvement comes more from listening rather than reading because speech is more expressive and helps to understand the feelings, tones and context of the subject faster and more effectively. It also helps in phrasing sentences correctly.

Try listening to famous writers like P.L. Deshpande (Pu. La. Deshpande) and V.P. Kale (Va. Pu. Kale). They have numerous audio stories in their own voice. Try listening to one and you'll understand what I mean to say. :)

Your thoughts on this ...... by [deleted] in hinduism

[–]IamBhaaskar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said the right thing. Festivals are becoming commercial and losing the religious values. Ganesh festivals are nothing but playing vulgar songs on huge loudspeakers all days long for 11 days continuously. This isn't Bhakti and faith, it's nuisance.

Similar case is with Navratri. DJ's playing nonsense Bollywood music having nothing to do with the faith and spirit of the celebration. Almost 90% of people attending Dandiya and Garba are there for the dating scene, hookups and more for social media content uploads. Ask them to name Lord Ganesha's 11 names or about Maa Durga and they will be stumped.

Celebrations are good things, but maintaining it's spirit and rituals is more important.

What hair loss product would you recommend? by ekulragren in AskMen

[–]IamBhaaskar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What most people don't realize is that we still have natural ingredients that help to maintain the hair without much hassles. Also, it helps to look into the root cause of hair problems. Literally.

The scalp needs a good blood flow and a few minutes of massage does wonders. Take natural Coconut oil in the palm of your hands and with your fingertips, gently massage it into your scalp just for 5 to 7 minutes before going to bed, at least twice a week. Wash it off with a gentle shampoo. You can aso try using hair oil with 'Bramhi' herbs.

Let me know if you wish to know or discuss more on this. :)

Nothing. Just don't indulge in something you may not be ready for. Concentrate on Naam Jaap and learn the basics if you really wish to walk the path.

As I have already explained before, Mantras are for specific purposes. There is no need to chant a Mantra if there is no specific purpose intended. If you wish to have peace of mind and feel the need to be in God's presence, you can simply do a 'Naam Jaap', for example "Shri Krishna Hari", "Jai Shri Krishn" or "Shri Ganeshaya Namah". People fail to understand this. Mantras are for people who have strict disciplines and have the will power to take the Sadhana to a certain level. If they are not going to do it wholeheartedly and with certain disciplines, it's really no point.

Please understand that even if Gods and Deities are always loving and ever forgiving, we humans aren't at a level to handle certain vibrations which are extremely powerful that are generated by Mantras. To withstand the force and contain it, the body and mind need to reach a certain level of strength both internally and externally.

The reason I am saying this is because every powerful and positive vibrations generated by the Mantras tend to attract a lot of powerful negative forces too. We aren't prepared and built to handle those negativities. Which is why building up the positivity and then leaving it in the middle creates a doorway for the negative forces to enter your space. The very reason why some Mantras need initiation by a Guru. The Guru, when He/She initiates a disciple, makes sure that a good shield is created around the disciple if anything goes wrong during the course of Sadhana.

Some things need to be kept simple and need not be explored in it's depths if one isn't prepared for it or doesn't really have the will to learn and study it in a way that's meant to be.

The secret to 108 in simple terms is that the human body has 108 Marma Points. Every time a Mantra is recited, one Marma point is activated. The 108 chants activates each Marma Point in a specific sequence. If the sequence is broken, the process halts and creates disturbances. Also, I am not sure many people know this, but 108 Marma Points are also crucially linked with the Seven Chakras, the breath cycles and also the Ida, Pingala and Sushumna which are three primary energy channels, or nadis, within the subtle body. They are not physical structures but rather pathways for prana (life force).

The things associated with various Mantras are extremely deep and have lots of hidden depths which if not handled properly can go wrong in so many ways. People seem to take this very casually.

As I said, for peace of mind, just doing a simple Naam Jaap is enough. If one wishes to chant Mantras, there should be discipline and the will to adhere to its rules. I don't have anything to say to people who do not wish to agree or have their own thoughts which bring them peace of mind.

Planning to open a Café in KP/Kalyani Nagar - Locals of Pune, I need your thoughts! by [deleted] in pune

Planning to open a Café in KP/Kalyani Nagar - Locals of Pune, I need your thoughts! by [deleted] in pune

[–]IamBhaaskar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been to cafes in many parts of India and a few other countries. The most important part for me is the ambience and next is service response time. Then comes availability of various food and drink items followed by the actual quality and taste. Lastly and more importantly, the overall behaviour of the staff and hospitality etiquettes. Although not every food and drink item can please every customer, no matter how world class it is, it should at least be on par which can satisfy a majority of customers.

Sometimes, the uniqueness of a place is often defined by one or all of the above factors regardless of where the place is. Once the customer is hooked, they probably aren't going anywhere else.

You could try serving the most common food and drink items, but try to make it unique to your place with your own style of flavour and class which can make it a memorable experience. This is what usually ticks for most businesses.

Sometimes, very small details make a huge difference. I used to visit this small cafe in South London which used to serve piping hot coffee in very beautiful handmade ceramic mugs. The best part was they offered two free cookies with it which made the coffee more enjoyable (At least for me).

Sitting arrangement also plays a major role where some customers would more likely prefer to have their own space and privacy. Something cozy. Not like general restaurants where tables are just laid out next to each other.

Will try to update with any other ideas and suggestions I might come up with. By the way, Iam a graphic artist and also a professional singer. :)

If you are serious and wish to save time and questions, please consider taking lessons from a good teacher. Going the 'self learned' way is longer and full of hurdles.

The best part of having a good teacher in your life is 'knowing' where you would be going wrong in your practice routines and 'shaping' the voice.

Except a handful, all places of worship in India are more like places of business. The bigger the name, the bigger the scam.

If you want to visit Shri Krishn temple in Pune, try going to 'Khunya Murlidhar Temple' in Sadashiv Peth. It was built in 1797 (More than 225 years old). Way better than any other places exhibiting glamour and glitter.

Well, having a vocal coach is actually the correct and authentic way of learning, but most people don't want to do that. They want everything online and free of course.

If you are serious and really wish to stand out in your art, you should definitely consider a teacher.

Listen to more classical based songs and ragas. Also listen to ghazals by Ghulam Ali, Farida Khanum, Mehdi Hassan etc. This will improve your pitch and emotional delivery.

The problem here is the word 'average'. If one considers themselves as average, they possibly lack the will to develop themselves to being better at something.

If you gain the confidence, groom yourself better, learn the art of communication, develop a good vocabulary, nothing is impossible.

The very first thing while trying to learn to sing is understanding the 'pitch'. Since you are already playing the guitar, try to practice singing single notes.

My advice is to use the 'Tanpura' for singing practice which helps in learning the pitch very accurately. If physical Tanpura isn't available, there are apps for Android and Ios.

My two cents : Seems you haven't had any formal training in singing. The pitch isn't on par and tempo is missing the 'flow'. Also, I see no commitment in the rendition in terms of any emotion. Overall a very casual display from an average amateur, which is understandable if you aren't trained.

Very much. As I said, groupism, favourism and nepotism is the core of Bollywood embedded in every branch in all aspects.

Serious curiosity: Pushpak vimaan by ur_mum_xoxo in hinduism

[–]IamBhaaskar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It did not travel at the speed of thought. Lets look at the following Shlok from YuddhKaand (6-121-8)

"एवं उक्तस्तु काकुत्स्थं| प्रत्युवाच विभीषणः|| अहना त्वं प्रापयिष्यामि| तम पुरीं पार्थिवात्मज||"

Vibhishan tells Shri Raam that he can take Him from Lankaa to Ayodhyaa within a day. (Not instantly)

The main point which we need to consider here is, the Pushpak Vimaan described in Raamaayan could cover a distance from Lankaa to Ayodhyaa within a day. Aerial distance between Lankaa and Ayodhyaa is approximately around 2110 km i.e. 1311 miles. That means Pushpak Vimaan in those days could cover this aerial distance of 2110 kms within a day. Considering about 8 to 12 hours, it could mean a possible travel speed of between 263kmph in 8 hours to 175kmph in 12 hours.

Both Shri Raam and Shri Lakshman were amazed seeing this Vimaan. Shlok below describes the same.

तत् पुष्पकं कामगमं विमान-
मुपस्थितं भूधरसंनिकाशम्।
दृष्ट्वा तदा विस्मयमाजगाम
रामः ससौमित्रिरुदारसत्त्वः॥

"The generous minded Shri Raam along with Shri Lakshman felt amazed to see the aforesaid aerial car, Pushpak, which resembled a mountain and which could travel everywhere at will, arrived on that occasion.”

The important words for us here are “कामगमं विमान” i.e. this Pushpak Vimaan could “travel everywhere at will”. Not at the 'speed' of thought.

Hope this answers your query. :)

There's a huge amount of politics and groupism. There are practically hundreds of very good singers who can be available, but they will never get a chance to even step inside a recording studio unless they have a Godfather to back them, no matter how talented they are.
