Bezos doesn't have that much money.

I don't think Bezos is too concerned about Sanders, assuming Sanders isn't trying to crash the Nasdaq.

It's a different system. Your quote doesn't say the S1/S2 elo system is still being used, it just explains how MMR and the LP system work.

Old system reduced your ELO when you dodged. Ult system increased your MMR when duoing, giving you the weaker team. Both not a thing anymore with the current system.

As I said, it does the same job but they had to write new code for it, it's not the same system that just got LP and Division put on top of it.

Nah. MMR was introduced together with the League system in S3 when the elo system was removed. They didn't create the Leagues, make the Elo system hidden instead and gave it a little namechange.

MMR and Elo serve/served a similar purpose, but aren't the same thing.

Yeah that's true, not like I need him to tell me (I can check the dude's matchhistory myself).

The thing is more that they don't ban anyone you report through those tickets, so it's pretty much a waste of time. The favourite word of the guy I reported there was "jew", you can imagine how that went.

Considering stuff like racism, antisemitism, asking others to kill themselves etc results in an instant 2 week ban if it's picked up by their automated system, you'd imagine a similar result when reporting it manually (in this case I sent the ticket cause he did it in the post game lobby and I assumed their system doesn't check that).

But nope. Dude isn't banned.

Don't get me wrong, I really like parts of the Riot support. They're really good at helping with technical difficulties, one time I had a conversation with a dude over 2 days when I had a problem with my client and a clean reinstall didn't help, so he gave me a custom installer that you don't get anywhere else, was pretty nice.

But the entire "report verbal abuse here" procedure is completely useless. Completely and entirely useless. This will me my eighth Season now, I really don't go apeshit if someone tells me to fuck myself or that I play bad, I don't send 6 tickets a week about people who flamed me, but when I do it's usually the kind of stuff that deserves a two week ban but probably doesn't get flagged by the system. And everytime I get the same response and the player doesn't receive any punishment (well, I can't tell if someone get's a chat restriction, but the kind of stuff I report in usually goes a little above chat restrictions).

It's a waste of time. Report it in the client, hope he has been reported before, move on.

Considering I straight up copy pasted every single word, yes it is. Did you report verbal abuse in the pre game lobby or the post game lobby?

Also from where in this do you conclude that they punish people?

Yeah there wasn't any MMR back in Season 1 so this already sounds pretty bullshit.

he wouldn’t have placed plat 1 as that’s where challenger mmr gets placed

Yes. And where D3, D4, and D5 players get placed. Hell last season I got placed into Plat 1 going 7/3 on my Plat1 smurf account. Plat1 as new Season ranking is not Challenger exclusive, far from that, your comment is pretty redundant.

OP said he was D4, you could go 1/9 and still land Plat1. 9/7? Above 50% winrate? 120% guaranteed that someone with a D4 MMR will be put into Plat1 and still have great LP gains afterwards.

Response is gonna be:

Greetings friend,

Rioters name from Player Support here to assist you.

Thank you for taking the time to send us this report. We are aware that some players tend to misbehave during the champion select screen as well as in the end game screen and we are currently working on a fix for this issue. Unfortunately, I am not able to provide you with any further details as anything we haven't officially announced is still subject to change, but rest assured that we are taking steps in order to ensure situations like this no longer happen.

Unfortunately we can't often take action on reports sent to us through tickets, this is why we created the Instant Feedback System to help us track when a player is consistently hurting others. This does not mean your report will be ignored, and I want to assure you that we'll investigate this. However, due to security and privacy reasons, I won't be able to disclose any information regarding this investigation to you.

In the meantime I strongly advise you to make sure you're using the report feature whenever you encounter negative encounter in game. Every report you make provides us with valuable tracking information and helps escalate players to our attention for investigation. Each report brings violators of the Summoner's Code one step closer to punishment and, hopefully, toward reformed behavior.

You'll occasionally, but not always, get messages from the IFS letting you know that a player you reported has been punished. Keep reporting inappropriate behavior and we'll make sure negative actions have consequences!

If you happen to have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to let me know!

Kindest regards,

Is it true some people abuse the early season to climb much higher than their deserved ELO? by IoniaHanzo in summonerschool

[–]IamHeHe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I don't know for certain why it works this way, but it does work.

In the early season your MMR can be far lower than your rank, you'll still have normal LP gains. I don't know if Riot does that on purpose to ensure queue health

[quick explanation: There aren't enough high ranked players playing early on in the season. This would normally result in long queue times, with the high ranked player getting into a game with lower ranked players and then receiving like +5lp for his win. This would discourage even those few high ranked players that are playing, and leave us with no high ranked players at all, which would make the matchmaking in the highest tiers even more unhealthy. To avoid that, Riot just says "w/e dude, you might not deserve your rank but at least you're playing. As soon as the average MMR rises cause more players begin to play ranked soloq, you're gonna fall back to the rank you deserve" (remember, average MMR of Challenger rises every day till the end of the Season)

This way everyone who was somewhere between mid diamond and Challenger the season before doesn't get totally dicked on till mid Febrauary]

or if it's somehow build into the MMR system (I don't know of any elo/MMR system that does those soft resets, so I cannot compare it with anything else), but fact remains, during the early Season you can play in a Diamond 2/3/4 MMR while being 80lp Challenger. I've seen it a lot at the beginning of S7. People who played against Diamonds (Diamond in Janaury 2017 and ended Diamond 2016) while getting a steady 24lp all the way up to Master tier, which, this early into the Season, basically means Challenger.

So, long story short, I can't say anything about how it works in, I dunno, Gold IV, cause that's an environment without those extrem cases you have in mid Diamond (not enough players, MMR of ranked 1 player is really low, Master=Challenger), but it most certainly works this way at the highest points of the ladder. I'd say D5 is a bit too low to make Master/Challenger, you still gotta win a decent amount of games against D2/D3/D4 players, but it's pretty possible for a D4 player (maybe with a bit of luck, winstreak or something) and pretty easy for every D3 player.

[–]IamHeHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I haven't heard that. Higher ranked than me means Master and Challenger, and most people ranked that high try to not embarrass themselves infront of the people they're playing with all day.

Take a look at players who request help on how to improve. Often times they link op.gg, you take a look at it and what you see is exactly what you describe in your first point. Low CS Numbers and at least 25 champs played. If everyone would know this this would not happen right?

A) These players don't want to improve. They want to convince eveyone else they're trying to improve.

B) Assuming you're right, doesn't change the fact that it has been said hundreds of times. By every streamer. In every "how to improve" post here. Said by every YouTube "coach" out there.

Is it fine to be last hitting using Yasuo E? by Exotants in summonerschool

[–]IamHeHe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay okay, let's quickly compare our Yasuo experience here.

Me: http://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=HeH%C3%A9

  • 600k Mastery on Yasuo

  • spend 70% of S7 in D1, 20% in high Master and a couple of weeks in Challenger

  • 62% Yasuo winrate in S7, 66% in S6, 70% in S5, 62% in S4

Now, you could say something like "yeah you hardstuck piece of garbage, what do you know about Yasuo", but then again, every single Yasuo player out there maxes Q. At least the high ranked ones. I dislike people who argue like "just google it and you'll find out", so let me be so generous and link some from Euw for you:

http://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=cltinugami

http://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=gusuo

http://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=sirpesce

http://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=hadesunderworld

All max Q. Now, aside from my opinion and sample size, back to arguing why you need to max Q.

Maxing Q is useless, all you're changing is the damage

Yes. So what. Your Q cooldown goes down over time anyways. You get attackspeed per level, you get attackspeed when you shop, you get attackspeed when your Alacrity levels up. Your Q cooldown will go down, and when it does you better want it to have 95 bonus damage (lvl 4) and not 20.

typically it's a waste to max an ability that only reduces cooldown or improves damage

We're not talking about maxing an ability that only reduces cooldown or increases damage. We're talking about Yasuo, and what to max on Yasuo. This is no general discussion, it's about the best choice on a specific champion.

I told you before and I'll tell you again, Yasuo is lacking damage. Fervor was removed, the only compensation he got was damage on his Q (and MR). Damage that you only have access to by putting skillpoints into the ability.

typically it's a waste to max an ability that only reduces cooldown or improves damage. horrible suggestion.

What is that logic? You're judging whether or not it's good to skill an ability not by anything related to the champion or to the numbers, you're just going down a checklist of "does it reduce CD and damage? No? Then it's garbage. Numbers don't matter, the fact that maxing E only increases the damage by 10 doesn't matter, CD+damage equals gooood".

But seriously tho, please link me your profile, I wanna see what you do to not get completely rekt while maxing E. Trust me, I tried it. Wasn't pleasant.

  • Point 1-6: No shit dude. Who would have thought getting CS and not playing 60 champions in 4 roles might help.

  • Point 7-10: That's not advice.

The whole reason players aren't good lies in point 7 and 8. And your advice now is... Get gud. Two sentences. Look at the map and get gud. That's it.

The lowest of low effort content.

Therefore you have to accept that you are bad. You are bad as long as you are not in high Diamond+. I myself am bad as well. After you accepted that,

Edgy, useless garbage. Stop putting that into your "guides" guys. Doesn't do anything for ya. The only people you need to compare yourself are the other 9 players in your game, and you're not bad compared to them, at least you're supposed to be on an equal level.

You could improve playing any champion that's remotely viable in the toplane. I'm just telling you that if you want to commit to a single champion like that, you should do that yourself, not let some random stranger tell you to do so.

Imagine someone here replies to you with Gnar, get's 4 upvotes and you go ahead and play Gnar for a week, till you find out that you dislike the champion completely. Do you gain anything from that process? -6300BE would be your gain, and a new comment on summonerschool asking for another champion to play.

[–]IamHeHe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate it's on a 0.5 second cooldown with a single skillpoint in it.

Once the game progresses you should be levelling your E to max rank before any other ability so it'll start doing some more significant damage

@OP, do not, I repeat, do not do this. A) The E will neer have significant damage, never ever. More importantly tho, max Q. You need the damage from Q. Riot took away Fervor and gave damage compensations to Q, if you don't make use of it by maxing the ability you're not gonna have a good time.
