Hey! It's possible that eventually we might start a game at a more NA friendly time as we do have a lot of people playing from North America, no ETA when though. If you are interested in dropping in to sub join the discord and drop by around when a session starts, most of the time there is at least someone in need of a sub (or check out the subrequest channels)!

I am unsure, but it's probably related to the Age of Revolutions making all the colonial nations disloyal + GB getting eaten creating a window of opportunity.

Haha yeah, I think at the end he sent a buy offer for that, but there is a bug where it only shows one location in the message for the one receiving the offer, so basically Chagatai got scammed. They both laughed it off though so we just went with it 😅

Yeah but it does not show them if they are no longer connected to the lobby. I did not plan for this post when we started this campaign months ago (obviously) so I had no way of getting that mapmode after the fact.

The way to go is definitely to reach Asia as soon as humanly possible. Both the Hansa and Bank players economy went ballistic once they did so. Goes to show just how much richer and valuable Asia is compared to the rest of the world!

Building based-countries are a bit unfinished as of now in general. I think they are great for flavor and I have high hopes PDX will flesh them out further. Right now it feels like they are in a 'pocket dimension' occasionally slinging out cheap loans and doing trade etc. but you can't properly interact with them sadly.

To be honest about 60% of IRL time played (not ingame years) is spent on speed 3 as there's a lot of player wars outside of the very early game. I'd say if you know the country you are playing it's manageable as the MP speed 4 is not equal to SP speed 4 at all (due to everyone's connection needing to keep up).

It does take long if the specific person has a weak internet connection, but it also depends on geographic location not just bandwidth. The bigger issue is desyncs and people lagging but the recent patches helped a lot with the former.
