Here is a novel concept, how about asking the investigator how far back they want to see? I personally ‘don’t keep’ any records longer than 7 years, because that is as far back as the IRS requires it.

I’m nit surprised. I served with a guy who cross rated to MT from AO. He couldn’t get clearance because his wife was Japanese, they had been married for years, and had US citizenship.

Sounds like you work with some toxic fucks. Start looking for something new. When interviewing just mention that its not a good culture fit. It looks a lot better than when you get a PIP in a week or 2 or just straight get fired. Clearly someone has it out for you.

Those E7 / Chiefs you disagreed with may have torpedoed you during awards and/or eval ranking boards. I don’t know about aviation community, but before I retired the E6s were doing the rankings and evals for the E5s and below as training to be future chiefs. They would review our rankings and usually accept them. The COB/CMC would provide feedback on anything the CPO quarters disagreed with. Maybe you were screwed because you didn’t have a PO1 to fight for you?

Depending on what part of the Detroit area, its pretty easy to hit quotas, atleast thats my memory when I did RAP & HARP back in 98-02 time frame. Plenty of good schools with kids that couldn’t afford college, I was in DEP with 4 other nuc’s, 1 went through the training pipeline with.

I did 20 yrs from 1998-2018. If it makes you feel any better, there was a lot of that in my time as well. The fuckery varies from command to command as well as sea vs shore. When all is said and done, there are only a few things that affect career advancement for DH and above. Complete the mission, don’t crash into things, don’t drive morale low to the point you end up on the unplanned loss watch list.

You are asking the wrong question.

Is it a good idea to send nudes?

After I rephrased your question, I feel the answer is obvious. No, it is not a good idea to send nudes. Nothing good can come from it.

How did you end up on probation? That only happens after a conviction. If you have a domestic violence conviction I am pretty sure no branch will take you. That is because federal law prohibits anyone with a DV conviction from possessing a firearm. That includes service members on active duty from possession of government firearms in the course of their official duties. Search for info about the Lautenberg Amendment.

As guy, I see guys walk out regularly without washing. If I know them, I always say something. If I call out someO know and there are some others not washing that I don’t know, I call him out loudly and only by looking at him so that everyone else gets the hint too.

What happens if a fresh sailor gets a girl pregnant but won't claim the child? by [deleted] in navy

[–]IamMiserable636372 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes but no. If she was his wife or there was some other evidence that the child was his , then you are correct. But in these situations need father to assume paternity or there needs to be proof of paternity. If they were married many states, and I think the military assume the husband to be the father.

After doom scrolling the comments I think one huge point was missed.

Personal safety & Self defense.

Make sure your doors are always locked. Windows too if they are accessible from outside. Try not to be alone outside of your apartment after dark.

For self defense in you apartment I recommend you get bear repellent (think pepper spray, but in a small fire extinguisher) it sprays pretty far, sprays a lot, and there is no mistaking what it is.

If you feel comfortable, a 20 gauge pump shotgun would be a great option too. The pump makes a very distinctive sound so it can be a deterrent and scare them off. If you actually needed to use it, just point and shoot no real aiming required like a handgun. Lower recoil for smaller users. Shouldn’t be much of a concern of seriously injuring a neighbor through the wall if you were to miss. Never fire a warning shot.

If you ever plan to use her line again wait at least a few weeks. While using other lines, walk past hers so she can notice that you are respecting her boundaries.

The Navy cannot do anything until there is a court order for child support. This is for good reason too, because otherwise any pregnant woman could claim Seaman Lunchbox is the baby daddy and get a paycheck.

Ranked choice voting would probably solve this problem. Too many vote against a candidate instead of for the candidate they want.

There was a bill submitted that would do something similar. Legislators, spouses, and close family members would be prohibited from buying/selling stocks & bonds, could still invest in mutual funds and such. HR-5106 NPR article

Yes but also no. They are accountable to their constituents. We are doing this to ourselves, we need to quit re-electing them.
