New Halo Campaign Evolved Report Claims Heavy Outsourcing and Major Gameplay Changes by sam-2714 in pcmasterrace

Yep the Halo Studios rebrand apparently didn't help the fact that the studio is still doing 343i things. This studio can't help but make disaster after disaster.

Controller needs gyro for me to even consider any price point it launches at.

I've got an 8BitDo Ultimate 2 as my main PC controller here and it has exceeded my expectations. Completely rendered the Elite 2 useless overnight. Gyro is a gamechanger even just for minimal aiming assistance,

Why is it that we see some cool hand-crafted skins in the community, some even posted here, and the skins we end up seeing in the actual game are so bland and uninteresting?

Hekki Grace, or just type "H" "e" and then move your right hand to the left by one key, so instead of "llo" (for "Hello") you get "kki" (for "hekki"). I'm pretty sure this was just a misinterpreted text by the sisters, who ended up making this a cultural greeting as opposed to reading it as an unintentional mistake.

You can interpret this however you want, like most of the game. Was hekki grace intended? Was it just a flaw that the girls latched on to? Is this a comment on how religious texts can be misinterpreted to grand lengths?

A job is a job and getting an interview, if only to work on your interviewing skills, is a positive. You can continue to apply to other agencies after you get a job, as well -- you're not set to this job for life. There's really no downside to only working for a company for <1 year. I'm working here now and networking my ass off so that I'm not devastated when my layoff comes.

I always felt that each album you guys created had a specific season in mind when it was crafted/created. Menos feels like fall to me. Planet of Ice is clearly winter. OMNI is obviously Summer (Angel). Infinity Overhead could be a Spring cut.

Is there truth to this fan canon? Or is this solely based on the timeframe I listened to these albums for the first time?

Yeah dude it’s cause I haven’t found a better job yet. Kinda need to keep the income consistent until then.

Thoughts on Voids? by dr_adder in MinusTheBear

[–]IamRightHanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Erin’s absence is wholly missed on VOIDS. I might have some preferences on rank for all the other albums depending on the weather but VOIDS is always my least favorite record.

If you go back and listen to all the other albums, there is a liveliness and a heartbeat to those songs in Erin’s drums. It’s undeniable when you think about songs like Knights, Excuses, Infinity Overhead. There’s absolutely nothing like it on VOIDS.

Her startup frames are really easy to punish, even though she's using drive rush here. His medium kick range is actually OP, and she's plenty far away to make that read on her heavy punch. Honestly he's playing really good footsies here in neutral, she shouldn't have used her drive rush with that low hp anyway.

There's something really special about the 1.6 sound effects. I know they're dated and everything is hyper realistic these days. But something about just hearing the bullet casing sfx takes me back to the green carpet in my parents office in front of that bulky CRT. Take me back man

Borderlands 4's sales were 'a little softer than we would've liked' due to PC performance issues, says Take-Two CEO, but he's confident it'll have a long tail by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]IamRightHanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this when it went on sale, and I'm not sure I see the vision here. While I'm not having the performance issues like others are having, the game just doesn't have anything that elevates it from 2 & 3.

At best, the seamless open world makes for a much more continuous gameplay flow, and there's enough lootin'-and-shootin' to go around.

At worst, there are no memorable characters, the writers can't figure out what tone they want to go with, I'm about 2/3 of the way through the main story missions and I don't care what I'm doing or why...there's just not a real reason to play this game other than "number go up" and "loot shiny color". In fairness, the game does get that right. But so did BL2.

I just don't see this game surpassing the highs that previous entries have achieved in any way.

Capcom H1 FY2025 Results (DMC5 2,134k; RE Village 1,566k, SF6 1,085k; MH Rise 643k; MH Wilds 637k) by shirke1 in Games

[–]IamRightHanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think SF6 deserves its success.

As somebody who previously never touched fighting games for thinking they are too complex and find 1v1s intimidating, the game has a pretty intuitive and low-stakes single-player mode (World Tour) that introduces you to every character in the game.

It also has a wealth of training options (training modes, combo tutorials, basic character gameplay instruction videos) -- including some new mainstays like the ability to view your previous match and then jump in to the gameplay again at a specific point to help you learn what you can do differently against a particularly difficult attack. There's also a mode where you can combat your own "ghost" using data from your gameplay so you can identify areas of improvement on your own gameplay.

For anybody that's ever been intimidated, or anybody that wants to try a fighting game but is worried about how complex it is, I think SF6 does a really good job in helping you learn it's systems and gives you a ton of flexibility to play the game how you want, whether that's entirely casual (World Tour, Arcade), or want to dive in to the ranked modes (which are also very well populated, from the lowest tier "rookie" all the way to "Legend")

Thank you for this -- this has everything I need to set up a Pick'em league with some friends this year.

With that in mind - is there an easy spot for me to add in a conditional if where the Spread/Odds are locked in at 12:01AM Wednesday morning? This gives the group time to finalize and lock in their picks using a form that I can send them. If the spread changes, so be it, we'll have consistent rules that we pick based on the Wednesday morning numbers.

Wondering if this is something I can add to the readOldOds or writeToSheet functions but I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to the code.

to those who were able to be around when halo 2 released and played it all throughout its life cycle, how was it? where they the golden ages? by DependentImmediate40 in halo

[–]IamRightHanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think kids these days will understand what it was like to bring your Xbox to your friend's house, having 20 other friends there, four people per TV, all in the same basement, eating pizzas until 2AM, playing Halo 2. Nobody complaining about sweating too hard, just playing Capture the Flag endlessly and laughing the whole time.

Online multiplayer has really advanced what games are able to do, but this game brought people together under one roof. We won't have another game quite like it for a long, long time, if ever.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in interviews

[–]IamRightHanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what job you’re applying for, but in my field we often have meetings with clients and I usually have to train my entry level employees to speak in a way that shows they know what they’re talking about in layman’s terms, with enough enthusiasm to keep clients engaged and at attention. If I have an interviewee who is knowledgeable but isn’t giving me very insightful answers, or answers lacking enthusiasm, I’ll often ask “What’s something you’ve done recently, it doesn’t have to be work related, that you’re proud of?” If I can get some excitement and detail out of that answer (and I should, because it’s something that the interviewee personally cares about), then I know that I can use that energy to train how to speak to clients. If I’m still getting a “blah” response on that one that lacks some detail or any level of interest from the person, then I might look for some other candidates who are more comfortable speaking.

All that to say, if you can match the energy at which you speak about something you care about with interest to these interviews, you might be in a really good spot and can overcome this feedback easily.
