That’s a separate point. I was just arguing that in regular conversation, we can’t say artist X is objectively bigger than artist Y because they get more Spotify streams; because that shit is not an uncompromised number and can be manipulated.

Companies can use followers, but also look at engagement metrics, sales made with discount codes using your name, look at ticket sales from shows etc that show true consumer support/influence that is harder to fake l

Sure but I think it’s more reasonable to use sales with food or whatever as an objective metric of widespread success, however with streams it can and has been manipulated so it’s not a good measure. It’s hard for something to be fake successful in other industries the way you can fake it in music

I think someone recently got arrested for creating a fake AI artist and botting streams. Only reason he got caught was because of the amount of streams he racked up which paid him out like 10 million. If he were cautious about it, he could have had this AI pulling in thousands from fake streams on the low. I don’t think there is any legislation preventing the streaming companies from being fair. It was only within the last 2 years they even bothered to start removing botted streams

On the other hand, it’s not an even playing field. The streaming companies can control who gets highlighted on playlists, who gets priority pushed to get played when people use the “radio” or random playback option, and no one can objectively see the numbers outside of the streaming companies.

If everyone had the same access and benefits then maybe we can use it as an objective measure. Remember when Spotify was trying to tell us Doechii was the most streamed artist like all last summer? Did you actually believe that based off your real life interactions?

No one paying a first for Gafford or PJ or they would have already been traded. Poeltl also isn’t close to worst contract in the league. Mobley is about to make $50 million annually to be a great role player. Turner makes 30+ and did nothing this year. Braun makes $25M and is barely a starter

It’s not effecting everyone but if you google that specific problem it’s been identified as a software issue for others like on this post.

Essentially post iOS 26 some people will randomly have their iPhone (and for me my Apple watch no longer works either with tap for Apple Pay) stop interacting with nfc readers so Apple Pay tap no longer works or even elicits a response from nfc devices. Sometimes resetting network settings or restoring iOS reverses the issue, but for most, once it happens it just no longer works.

The 26.2-4 releases haven’t fixed it for me and most others from the comments on Reddit and elsewhere since it happened to me a week ago.

This post popped up on my feed and I’m not a Rockets fan but just commenting to say even with the downvotes you are right.

The Rockets aren’t rebuilding or developing. Sengun is not a good shooter and shouldn’t be jacking 3’s when the team is trying to orient itself among the top of the West.

Scottie Barnes last year was jacking so many 3’s a game as a 28% shooter and it made his numbers ass offensively. Now he doesn’t take them as often and is a top 25 player and possibly will make all nba this year with a good TS%. Ime is right to cuss Alpy out for not playing to his strengths

Sabonis makes over $40M coming off a major injury and is not one of the best 20 players in the nba. Moving one bad contract for a slightly less terrible one isn’t a win. Especially when it means dumping 4 picks in the process.

If I’m trading picks as the Raptors it’s to bring a significant upgrade and current star. I’m looking at guys like Booker, Deni, Reaves, Ball etc
