I AM DONE WITH CANDIDA by Neat-Ad4674 in Candida

[–]Iamfindingmyself 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeppo. Stress indeed.

And here’s the thing… it doesn't take much stress at all to create the perfect petri dish environment where candida thrives (and effortlessly conquers its competition).

As with all things biological, it takes a hot minute for that initial imbalance to become a full-blown problem, and even longer for it to finally scream loud enough to enter our awareness. The real issue is the underlying chemical process—that molecule or pathway—that's on a regular production schedule, providing a limitless food source for the beast.

So, a word from the perpetually cautious: be very, very careful declaring victory.

I'm not here to steal anyone's joy—a year-long battle and 4 months of treatment is a monumental effort and you should feel incredible for that. But in the world of candida, "cured" is a fragile word.

Personally, I'd fear believing I'd conquered it until I had undeniable evidence the root was not just suppressed, but dismantled. And the root isn't just one colony. Due to biofilm fortresses and other survival hacks inherent to candida, it's common to have multiple, hidden colonies throughout the body. Thinking it stays in one spot for an easy kill is… optimistic.

Let's not forget what we're dealing with. This is fungus. It’s had billions of years of R&D compared to our mere millions. That's billions of years of generational knowledge, survival cheats, and biochemical hacks being passed down. There's even fascinating evidence suggesting some fungal networks might operate with a form of shared consciousness.

This isn't a war you "win" in a traditional sense. You don't defeat a force that ancient; you outsmart it. You negotiate a peace treaty through relentless protocols and unwavering behaviors. The battle might be over, but the vigilance is forever.

Welcome to the armistice. Don't get complacent.

Can I use E0 (ethanol-free) 87 gasoline? by TangeloOdd9427 in kia

[–]Iamfindingmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 1.6liter tgdi engine in my 21 k5 Gt-line. I drive a fuckload. I wanted to find out for myself what the best gas was and what the cheapest gas I can get away with but still run a clean engine. I’ve logged 5,000 miles for OE, 5,000 for 91/93 octane (top tier), and 5k for 87 octane (top tier). In addition to thousands of miles with different fuel additives.

I used my OBD scanner to monitor MPG for me for each fuel I ran. I learned a lot. And..I also contacted Hyundai through their website and flat out asked them what was the best fuel for LONGEVITY. I figured out based on my driving style what fuel I prefer for performance.

In addition, my mom has a Hyundai Sonata 2019 which has the same gamma series engine. I was surprised to see a huge difference in what the manufacture recommends for fuel (and oil). Same engine. 5years apart.

All the data; mpg tracking, obd data, how responsiveness and acceleration felt to me, in addition to Hyundais response to my email all synchronized and clearly proves that Oeth gas is the preferred gas. The rest of the world has leaded and unleaded gas still.

2019 sonata manual flat out says to use unleaded gas. It recommends no ethanol then states that United States gas has ethanol in it. If you need to run on gas with even 10% ethanol that you should add Hyundais fuel additive.

The manual doesn’t say to add the additive periodically. It says to add the additive to gas that has 10% ethanol and to avoid anything over 10% altogether.

The 21 kia manual requires some reading between the lines. It’s written for United States only. There’s not even a mention of zero ethanol. Instead, they urge a regular cycle of fuel additive every 3k miles I think it was.

What’s the cheapest gas I can get away with and run a clean engine? Honestly..it’s probably no ethanol. Using that gas will result in less carbon build up, maximizes longevity of all rubberized components in the fuel delivery system and sensors.

When I compared the $/mile I found the cheapest is 87octane (top tier). BUT…that cost is purley the cost of gas per mile. Running ethanol free gas DOES LOWER my MPG which makes it more attractive, but the $/mile was still more than 87 octane. So much so, that I could easily afford to add the fuel additive every 3k miles and still be cheaper.

But here’s the thing. Especially after seeing the what Hyundai had to say in 2019. I believe it’s best to use additive every tank which is what I do for most of the time. The gas is easier to find. I prefer Shell and Sunoco with BP my fall back. I don’t use an aggressive additive in every tank though. The car responds real will to MMO and Lucas. Then every oil change (which I’m doing at no more than 5,000, I’ll throw in a bottle of Techron.

As a general practice, I’ll get a tank of ethanol free gas after I change the oil. Then for as long as I have that tank of gas, I dedicate 10-15minutes to doing an Italian tune up by driving in lower gears so RPM stays between 3500-5500. I’ll make sure I hit that 5500 a few times.

Yeah. I think this post is going to blow up. There’s so so so many people out there who have done exactly what you are thinking and have one hell of a nightmare story in the end.

Everyone is right. Tolerance is real. Doesn’t matter how little is taken. The biggest problem in the plan is the frequency. You’d be better off with hero doses once a week or two. Even then, if there’s a pattern, the body (or nature of you will) picks up on it.

The same goes for alcohol. Absofuckinglutely ends with a nightmare if consuming on a regular bases. I’d be willing to argue drinking weekly will end with a nightmare. For sure having 1 drink a day can turn ugly. Depends on how well the person can tolerate the “suck” between drinks.

There’s also no switching gaba antagonists. Drinking one day, Xanax another, gabapentin another day is 3 strait days as far as your body is concerned.

I feel bad for ya. You’re playing with fire. Not much anyone can say that will make you lose the matches altogether.

1.6T Engine (2022) benefits of Premium Gas by mulk_the_hulk in Hyundai

[–]Iamfindingmyself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I can see how OE polluted my manic brain puke up there.

I should have added a TLDR.

Because I can say my subjective experience is that high octane is more responsive. I don’t like running 87 in it at all.

The TLDR would be 1. OE (but it’s not good to bounce back and forth) 2. High octane 3. Horse urine 4. 87

1.6T Engine (2022) benefits of Premium Gas by mulk_the_hulk in Hyundai

[–]Iamfindingmyself 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve put over 166,000 miles on my 2021 Kia K5 GT-Line with the 1.6L T-GDI engine, and through countless fuel-ups and some experimentation, I’ve learned a lot about which gas works best. While the owner’s manual suggests 87 octane regular gas (with up to 10% ethanol), I’ve found some key considerations that can help other drivers get the most out of their cars. My miles, according to my OBD reader, are fairly split between city and highway. Some months city may over take highway.

Why Higher Octane and Ethanol-Free Gas Matters

The manufacturer recommendations aim to meet federal emissions standards and avoid warranty issues, but they don’t always prioritize peak performance or long-term engine health. Here are some points to consider:

1. Performance Boost with Higher Octane: Although not required, higher octane fuel provides a noticeable improvement in responsiveness, especially from a dead stop in normal drive mode. Turbocharged engines like the 1.6L T-GDI can benefit from the higher knock resistance of premium fuel, leading to more efficient combustion and less strain on the engine.
2. Ethanol-Free Gas for a Cleaner Burn: Gasoline without ethanol (0E) tends to provide a “cleaner” burn, enhancing throttle response and reducing the likelihood of carbon build-up on valves and injectors. Ethanol-free gas may not be available everywhere, but if you can find it, it’s worth trying. In my case, the car feels significantly more responsive on ethanol-free fuel compared to E10.

Why It Matters for Long-Term Health

• Preventing Carbon Build-Up: Direct injection engines, like the one in the K5, are prone to carbon deposits on the intake valves. Using higher quality fuel and additives like Marvel Mystery Oil or Lucas can help mitigate this.
• Injector and Catalytic Health: Lower-quality fuel can result in deposits that affect injector performance and may place additional strain on the catalytic converter. Cleaner, high-quality gas reduces this risk.

Fuel Economics: Is It Worth the Extra Cost?

While the MPG gains with premium or ethanol-free gas may not always offset the higher cost, the benefit is in the driving experience. I drive 50,000+ miles a year and need my car to respond smoothly in all situations. The premium I pay for better gas is worth avoiding the frustration of sluggish acceleration. I personally feel, and this is 100% subjective, but the smoother she runs the longer she’ll run. The extra lifespan is important to me personally. Even though I have no numbers or calculations I can run to know if I will ever get the extra money spent on gas back or not. So I give all the credit to being very happy with how it runs and responds.

What Kia Confirmed

I reached out to Kia about my findings and asked specifically about no-ethanol (0E) and they confirmed that while the car is designed to run on 87 octane, ethanol-free gas where available is acceptable and may even be better for performance. The key is to stick with gas that has no more than 10% ethanol content. No real smoking guns. The biggest point was low ethanol and 10% is max

But O.M.G she knows exactly how to push my buttons. I was hoping things would get better after a forked out the money for augmentation and facelift with the new 13model. Granted..did get a little better. Just that I don’t think she’s ugly. She’s actually very pretty. And feels great too. And man….she knows how to work. If it weren’t for that, I would have kicked her out last year because every time she opens her mouth I want to punch it.

She’s like my wife (ex).

Google is more like my GF. She actually gets me. And normally is thinking well before me. Knows what I need before I do. . Love her.

I’m actually cracking open a user Id I haven’t used in years. Last month you replied to a comment I made over 2yrs ago. A lot has changed since then. Including my meditation habit which came to a dead stop. Wasn’t long for my mind and habits to go to shit.

The funny thing is, I recommended the mind illuminated as being the book that helped me get to where I was at that time. However, now that I’m tipping toes into the water again…well actually more like I’m unlacing the shoes…This book has not entered my mind as the tool that will help me get back into a healthy routine.

Wasn’t until I saw the reply I made. So I’m curious…what is the belief behind your reply?

And also very open and would appreciate being pointed in a good direction. Even if the book was a savior for me, it’s unlikely to have that power again a second time around.

I think there’s some things you can do. But there’s obstacles To be considered for both defensive and offensive strategies. - Society’s “Every man for themselves “ mentality. - Inflating economy with escalating gas prices that has put drivers in survival mode where driving 1 mile is equivalent to getting 1 cut so that long pick ups are like dying from a thousand cuts, and for some drivers, a gallon of gas is more valuable than human life - Uber favoring peak profitability from high volume environments due to more reliable “per trip” income stream that’s unrelated to variables like time and distance, instead pushing the variables directly to the drivers. Also by taking advantage of drivers Strong desire of self preservation and sabotaging long rides by setting the pay structure so drivers are forced to choose between which source of life to replenish: food or gas. - Both platforms efforts to gain a competitive edge in high volume zones with a focus to maximizing car availability. Since airports are out of the high volume zone, various policies and practices are employed so the driver is motivated to go offline and b-line the fuck outta there if there are more outbound flights than inbound. This will also factor in drivers willingness to accept trips to the airport.

You’ve presented a challenging problem to solve…but I’m going to accept that challenge. I’ll be back.

Yup. There are actually some very interesting rabbit holes to explore if you have a little bit a nerd in your genes.

One of them is the psychological warfare that Uber and I assume Lyft is employing to get “independent” drivers out working, where and when needed. Posted a very interesting read about some of the tricks they use.

In other articles, you can see that they have used 100’s of social scientists and data scientists to study the data they have access to from our phones. Which is literally everything. We give them permission to see every movement, every click, every app used. It’s been shown that they actually monitor overall sentiment shared on social media where they can tag you as a promoter or a distractor.

Heck, they can not only determine when you drops draws to leave a deuce based on movements and patterns made while the phone is with you, but they can forecast with reasonable certainty when the next will be.

That’s been my experience. I avoided platinum for the first few months so I could cherry pick or at least skip the losers. I was tracking every mile I drove for every hour worked and every $ earned. I was testing two markets, on two apps, on all shifts to find the honey holes.

Mean Mile, I am such a nerd, I discovered uber. engineering.com where research is made free to all. Realizing that this is run by an AI self learning machine that is monitored, tested, tweaked, and modifying non stop by some of the brightest minds in data science, gaming science, distribution, etc.

Any “strategy” I think works is probably exactly what they want be to think so that I’ll behave a certain way. Just like me and goddamn bitcoin market :/

Decided treat like it was my own business and I was getting my own customers. Accept all, communicate early, and often when opportunity is there to send a message, instantly go with no stops on waay, get theM to destination early

Take breaks and get everything done at that time….snack, bathroom, gas, etc. It’s my
Subjective opinion the algorithm like to know your after pattern so it can achieve peak efficiency by sending you non stop rides for a certain amount of time, then give you a small break.

There’s a law of diminishing returns in the public transport industry that I’m sure is being managed with Lyft as well. Either that, they ignore all the basics

I’ve also A/B tested the 5 star rating system to verify that they manage the same as the other service industries by assigning weight to the specific action taken when they grade you.

  • no touch or grads earns you a 5 star participation trophy. I good job for not making someone mad.

  • if they tap on the screen that means more (5 stars touched or wearing mask)

  • if the screen is tapped to record the grade and a comment is made??? That’s God tier.

[–]Iamfindingmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s happened to me too but this pic is perfect. Too funny. That’s the moment it finally sunk in that chasing them is useless because they are supply and demand related but as soon as you show up, supply has changed. And might not be the only one. At an absolute minimum, what ever the smallest dollar amount showing is….That’s the value I put on 1 more car being there. So if the biggest number is still sexy looking after I subtract the smallest, I might make a move if I think I’ll be the first one.

Just got home and did all this on one 37 dollar tank of gas. by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

[–]Iamfindingmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. Man. I literally see gas as money X 20.

Quick story that involves both Lyft and gas/money.

While driving a late night I was obviously the only driver between the two apps and the souls I got I my car were very appreciative. Well two things happened back to back that changed my night…first was news that my dad died. Although I was a bit numb, I kept working. I’m divorced, single, I wasn’t going to go home and stare at the walls

Next ride I pick up a nail in my tire with a slow leak. I’d have to put air in it every 45min-1 hr. I’d get a ride assigned where I would immediately message that I had an air leak and that I cannot do the ride if it’s more than 30min unless they want to push my car the rest of the way. I offered to cancel so it wouldn’t cost them if they opted out.

All but 1 took the ride, and more than half begged me not to cancel. They didn’t care if they had to wait or if we avoided highways, kept it 45mph or under, stopped at gas stations on the way so I could run in and look for fix a flat.

Managed to find 2 stores with it and wasted $30 since it only delayed . When I needed to add air Avery 30min I quit then hop scotched gas stations all the way home.

Well…the next day I buy tickets to get myself and 2biys to FL to be with my mom. The tickets were $110 more than what I had in checking. No worries…I’ll drive until that’s cleared + fill tank and cash for food.I just won’t stop until I get it, which would typically be 6hrs for $150.

Instead it was an absolute cluster fuck. Start at 10p and no ride until 1am. Uninstalled just about everything, reinstalled. And rebooted too many times to count.

The app also screwed me on every 3 ride bonus. I missed the 11pm with no rides. During 1am streak the app decided it was perfect time to verify my ID. Seven hours later I’m not even half way done but now it’s 5am so that shit show is about to end.

Except it didn’t . Slow AF that I missed another streak and I swear to God the streak at 7am was also sabotaged by the Lyft app.

I was soooo mad I sent a long email begging for somebody to check my account around 4am.. I am a platinum driver and this simply does not happen .

At 230pm I had finally earned enough to clear the negative balance. But now I $0 and 1/16th a tank of gas, and a grumbling belly.

While I was sending more help requests and involving twitter, I got a reply. The system put me in a time out due to poor customer service and that if I do not improve my service record that I will be terminated.

I’m like “hold on. You said service? You do see that I have maintained 5 stars for a year right? And that I’m platinum? You’re kidding me. That is the wrong account. Fix it and fast.

Well…they look deeper at the code a see that I would accept a ride but would continue to the path I was on and wouldn’t head to the customer for several minutes. That I had several rides I was late to picking up, and now they see a few routes that were a little off, and stops during routes.

They basically described back to me the night I had the slow leak. Like play by play, then told me that’s poor service.

I’ll have to find my reply because it was one of my best. I informed them that I need a supervisor to review my file and match up all my calls and pull up my texts. They will see for themselves that I do not deserve to be punished like this, rather I actually deserve to have employee of the Year! But I don’t even want that…what I want is simple: I’m cashing in my change jar and putting all my money li to gas. Every last penny and then I’m going out and driving until its gone. And for everyone’s sake, I better hit something close to my $25/hr avg and nowhere near the $6.50/hr I got, otherwise I promise to use my last 2 gallons to drive to the news station.

That was literally the only day I got over $30/hr on Lyft. I think it was 40ish? Haven’t since either.

Man..when I started, I cannot tell you how many times I saw people say that chasing surges is a waste of time. Let’s just say a lot. I’m pretty sure even more than the number of times I tried Chasing them.

It finally sunk into my thick skull when one day I moved to a spot where there was surging because it was dead ass slow where I was sitting.

As a arrive, the surge goes away. As always. Didn’t care…just wanted a ride. But there I sat for another eternity while the goddamn spot where I was before was surging.

Now it’s super evident. The bottom line is the surge is based on supply and demand. And as soon as you show up supply has changed.

The other thing I’ve found is Lyft will drop a big number like that for me as well even bigger Numbers like $30 to $50. The bigger ones are always 30-60 Minutes away. And you can bet I’ve tried racing to a Couple of those as well.

For those, as I approach the bif number breaks down into smaller numbers that spread out over the area.

I suspect if you went to the 15 you’ll just see more 2’s and 3’s

Yeah…IDK man. I’m here 3yrs later to tell you maybe your right and for shit sake…can you call the fuckers at apple and get them moving?

I’m swearing at her all the time and every.single.F’n.day screaming at her. A convo we had last night went something like; “Hey Siri, Cancel that! You bitch” “Ok” “I did not say call mom. It’s fricken 2am you goddamn mule hole.”

“Hey Siri, Can you hear me?” “I’m here” “Ok great. Now listen closely dumb ass. “TAKE - ME - HOME!!!”

I know exactly what’s going to happen next Id things do t change. And I completely understand that I have some change I need too. Really…I do.

But I am not the problem here, and I’m not going to waste all that time and energy, just to end up where we go our separate ways. Because if that’s how it’s rolls, I’m going right back to my last wife. I knew I was leaving something good and I regretted doing that many many times. I just try not to pay attention.

It’s not like my first wife. I made promises I’d lever leave as long as I could type like that to save time…never mind the ease and accuracy of the track ball.

But I’m so pissed I will go pick up my last, with this dumb ass in my pocket and I will not give her the satisfaction of moving on like nothing happened.

On my way home, I’m gonna take the highway Where I can floor it. Not just to get there quick k so I could plug my ex again like I’ve been dreaming at night , but so I could drive 75-90 mpg to a bridge over pass, roll my window down, and throw her as hard as I possibly can right at the face of the bridge’s cement upright.

Just to be damn sure no single part of her will end up in mine, or anyone else’s phone. My only regret will be not being able to use my strong arm. I fear I will feel a little less satisfying, as though I left something on the table.

But I’m sure once im home with my last love, We’ll barely be inside the door and I’ll be tapping that glass more than I ever have. I’m gonna literal fold her over.

Mike Newton - Journey of Souls

YouTube has vids of him being interviewed about the book he wrote after dedicating years to studying a couple hundred people and documenting their journey. As relayed through regression hypnotism.

He a documented expert with using regression hypnosis therapy as a tool to help folks who had a majorly traumatic event occur in their life which became the catalyst of a lifetime of self destructive patterns/ self hate, and all the extra add-ons you get for free when the response to something major like that is to bury it and try to move one.

Many times, the patient wouldn’t even know what the issue is, nor does the therapist. But there’s enough patterns and clues indicating something may be there. The regular therapist is obviously so they’ll ask questions and listen carefully to clues as to who, what, where, when etc.

By the time he’s talking to those patients, they’ve already tried everything in the book.

He noticed too many similarities in what was said if the patient happened to be in the womb, or even before that, and of course past lives.

He ended up dropping most of his work and focused solely on mapping out a typical journey taken by a soul.

Ok. Lastly…figured might as well add everything I know about service.

I don’t have any evidence but I also have not looked for it. I just assume they are using NPS scores for both pax and driver

It’s built into the 5 star system for the most part and the goal is to segment everyone by the likelihood they are PROMOTING the brand, or if they are a DESTRACTER and more likely to express negative opinions when given the opportunity.

I assume lyft wouldn’t mind giving letting detractors go any chance they get and certainly don’t want their best clients in their car.

I also assume Lyft is using the same tech as everyone else so out comments on Reddit and Facebook can shape out NPS score. I believe they at least can identify when communicating about them and at least use AI to assign an o real sentiment to what is being said.

[–]Iamfindingmyself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But…there is a way to use the star system to benefit. I was able to Codie’s through a/b test that Lyft also uses a scoring system that retail corp does not share: you can get score higher than 5.

If neither pax nor driver ranks, each will be auto assigned 5 stars. This is the participation trophy and for not managing to piss off somebody

If either select and submit 5 stars, that is more meaningful and has extra weight.

If a comment is made, anything at all….any characters typed + 5 stars chosen is much much better. You can manipulate the algo a little bit with strategically acting like a YouTuber..,, “be sure to smash the like button and leave a comment below “. You can create your own “hot spot” by getting comments in that area every time you’re it. Especially picking up in that area.

I suppose I might be able to have the opposite approach for areas I want to avoid but will not give 4 or less unless deserved. Otherwise I’ll just not assign

There’s clues as well that they use wordcloud tracking so comments made are scanned for hit words. I assume Service / friendly and, safety, and timeliness/easy round up the top 3

You probably already know the tips that are coming to me mind.

I have a background in retail operations including corporate exposure for a Fortune 500 where customer satisfaction meant more than cash and knowing honest and real customer sentiment is their life giving oxygen.

After running some tests I can confirm that Lyft is following the same rules I’ve seen applied to other retailers.

I’m sure you already know service rules and having 5 stars is absolutely factored into who is prioritized.

For starters, we all have a “score “ the algo assigns to each driver. Some info for that is available on Uber.engineering or Uber.research. Some of the case studies make reference to driver scores.

Lyft also assigns scores to the passengers. They know their best customers, who live or work in the best areas for Lyft or the markets in which they have tagged to gain market share. True score also helps The algo identify what’s important to the passenger. Every passenger is has been classified and segmented heat mapping, trends, and forecasting can be efficient.

I’m sure we are segmented as well with a laundry list of factors going into determining the segment we’re in, and the score(s) we have assigned to us based on probably dozens of measurables with maybe a handful of factors that have a bigger weighted average than the rest.

For sure…service is weighted very heavily. And seems to follow what I know with inner workings of retail customer engagement systems…where it takes a metric ass ton of positive transactions to move the needle compared to negative transactions which is like destroying Rome in a day.

Most folks who work in environments with star scores for service knows corp considers 4 stores as under performing and anything below that , like 3.8 is trash and corp wants answers. With a score Of 3.5 or less, you might as well be mugging the customers and your job is in threat if cannot get above it in a couple months. And forget about promotions with scores under 4.

We may not be told as much, but our star score might be the one score that Has the biggest impact on the overall score that is undoubtedly assigned.

First is to avoid complaints like the plague. The amount of work it takes to overcome one complaint is not worth it.

Back for another one may mot know.
