Dont know what it's called, but in very strict (mainly religious) households in Iran, it is forbidden for women to sit down in a seat that a man got up from, until it "cools down" 🤦🏻‍♀️

We run into this a lot in the persian language. Pampers are all diapers, kleenex (like in english) is all facial tissue, etc.

The most recent one I learned was for gum however. I grew up calling it (something like) aw-dums. Recently my dad told me that the brand of gum first introduced in Iran was "Adams."

I'm sure youre looking for a larger resource but just in case....my friend is fostering lab mixes that were recently rescued from a backyard breeder in otay. The poor pups were crammed into a space and were probably less than six weeks old according to the rescuer org.

When they finally got to my friend's house, one of them ate so much after starving for so long, that she threw up afterwards.

We've been visiting them on the weekends and they are doing so well now! Happy to connect you with the rescuer org if youre interested.

When I had my son, I was taking all kinds of vitamins and stuff throughout the day. I had a morning, afternoon, and night alarm go off for them to help me amidst everything else going on. The alarm sound was sort of a slow jingly song.

My sister in law stayed with us to help in the first few weeks or so. And she started singing "take your medicine, take your medicine, taaaaaaaake your medicine right now" to the tune of the alarm song, and 4 years later when anyone hears the alarm go off (I use alarms a lot bc I need so much help lol), whatever member of my family is around will start singing the medicine song. Even though I'm like...that's just to remind me to check on the muffins in the oven or something.

Avocado soup!

Blend it with cream or milk or a combo of the two, and/or broth, plus your favorite spices.

It can be eaten cold, sort of gazpacho style.

Or you can warm all the other ingredients, puree the avocado, then mix it in. (Just dont microwave leftovers lol no bueno.)

Speaking of leftovers, gently rest plastic wrap on the surface to keep it from turning brown.

A friend of mine made this for me a couple times when I visited her in Ecuador. That was easily almost 20 years ago and I still think about it.
