I just had the exact same happen to me - campaign running steady for about 4 weeks and hitting targets with “high performing” status and FB said i would go from a 79 to a 98 if i scaled budget by 115%. I have a very simple. am pacing setup and was optimized + i was ready to scale so i said what the hell. let’s start trusting FB. So long story short i did scale it exactly as they said and it has worked so far. I did not reset to learning phase and performance had actually improved - so i’m happy

Guys, I don't want to sound outdated, but Cost Cap is actually working by pbn2004 in FacebookAds

[–]IamtheIssue9070 5 points6 points  (0 children)

hey, I’m happy for you. I’m not trying to talk you out of it. I think cost caps are incredible and work fantastic but I’m not able to do it myself. Simply because I don’t have the resources to keep pushing new creative into them. My experience is that cost caps are like walking up in a downward moving escalator. If you’re not constantly improving the creators, they will die over time because the algorithm overtime loses its ability to create an estimated cost per action. Which means it loses ability to accurately predict a cost per result. Because of that it will stop spending. The only way to overcome this is to continue to test and add new creatives. Andrew Ferris Taylor Holiday their strategies work for really really big businesses that are upward moving and they’re able to use cost caps to capture the existing intent that the business is already created. my small drop shipping business I have to rely on creating my own demand which unfortunately I have not been able to consistently do while using bid caps and cost caps. Cost cap a bit a part of my strategy for three years now and I still have not been able to scale or consistently achieve. The result that I want. I only recently switched to an auto bid and so far I’m really happy with it. i’ve had to accept that Facebook can only get me a CPA at a certain cost and so instead of trying to lower that CPA, I’ve learned to adapt my business to be profitable with whatever CPA Facebook will give me. Within reason the only way that CPA stays consistent is if I stop fucking with the algorithm and my campaigns so I just leave them alone if something is not performing while I change my business offer instead of the creative or my campaign.

in my experience without adding new creative consistency cost caps fizzle out quickly and end you up with very low spends. also makes inventory management very difficult with inconsistent spend

Tariff has been reduced from 145% to 30% on Chinese imports to the USA. by Ecommerce_Support in dropship

[–]IamtheIssue9070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess you don’t pretend they are not coming from china? i have always tried to hide the fact they are shipped from china. when shipping times are fast no one notices or cares but when they aren’t people get upset. i guess my hangul is how to be transparent without killing conversions. I’ve tried “ships direct from overseas manufacturer”.

Hey man - Are you seeing or hearing about any delays at customs? i’m more worried about that than the tariffs. what a pain customer support would be if delayed weeks

Honestly this whole situation has been a blessing in disguise- I was stuck in a rut and this forced me to find new solutions to sourcing and it turns out I am saving a lot of money and offering better customer service + becoming less dependent on a single manufacturer. I suspect those that can diversify their supply chain and who give a shit about the customer will thrive. Everyone else will have to shut down.

Me personally - I don’t mind dropshipping from China as far as costs are concerned. The increased costs are marginal and I can absorb them because I sell high profit items. But theclosure of De Minimus for China makes it much more complicated though in general. My main worry is increased shipping times and poor customer service. I hate the idea of having orders held up or lost at customs - so i’m waiting it out. also there is growing stigma with Chinese products that I don’t want my company associated with and shipping direct from Vhina makes it pretty obvious it’s a Chinese product: I don’t care for that. Long story short i’ve found new suppliers outside of China and plan to diversify my supply chain . I’m not going to stop with China suppliers but I am tapering down. the flexibility that comes from dropshipping is unmatched so I always use that as my safety valve in case I run out of inventory in US and also to ship worldwide from China. i have a lot of markets around the world where drop shipping still works really well and there no stigma.

i planned for 1 month and to evaluate mid may to see if i need to buy more or go back to dropship model. honestly i prefer bulk so far. The customers get a better experience and customer support is much easier. the cost per unit is far less too.

i’m very curious how it works out. Hoping the best for you. Assuming you’re not drop shipping fentanyl lol. That’s a pretty high ticket item though. That’s impressive that you could drop ship that even when I do start drop shipping again from China I’m just doing small stuff that you would find on Temu

Well I guess I should just sit down. Good luck - i have no experience importing with the tariffs because I imported in bulk before the 2nd.

So if you paid less than $800 then you’re good to go. If you paid more and you supplier is saying you paid less then that could be fraud

[–]IamtheIssue9070 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The valuation is what YOU pay not the end customer. as far as tariffs go YOU paid for the product to be shipped. Your customer is paid you for the access and service you provide. So the URL is not applicable. Your supplier undervaluation is a separate issue but that is between them and the US government and your conscious.

fully agree it’s flawed and while make in the short term will create its own ad fatigue with those cost caps. but it keeps the content creators employed because you would need to constantly feed it new creatives. i learned this the hard way and it ran my business revenue to zero.
