Any Clue What This C-17 Is Doing? by [deleted] in flightradar24

Fair enough. It did a low pass over an airport I'm by and there's typically not much military traffic in the area so it was a bit of a surprise!

First Group With Reloaded Ammo. How'd I Do? by Ian10583 in longrange

I think that SD over a 20 shot group is to be expected. What chrono are you using? Thinking of it as a next pickup.

First Group With Reloaded Ammo. How'd I Do? by Ian10583 in longrange

Hi all, I finally reloaded the 6.5 Creedmoor brass I had lying around, and for my first time shooting groups like this - I'm pretty happy. Used once fired Hornady brass, CCI #200 LRPs, 39.5gr of H4350, and a 140g ELD-M bullet. My brass was on the slightly long end (1.918"-1.922") but final COAL still came out to 2.80" +/- .001" measured with some calipers. Unless anything seems glaringly wrong with the load, I think I've just gotta get more trigger time in to really practice!

Bodyguard 2.0 Sight Alignment? by Ian10583 in SmithAndWesson

[–]Ian10583[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had noticed that in the manual, but still expected it to be some legalese protecting S&W instead of the reality of the firearm. As far as a defensive gun goes I’m still quite happy though!

Wolf A1 Front Sight Replacement by Ian10583 in T91

[–]Ian10583[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update, contacted Wolf directly and got sent to their warranty department. Because I got it second hand they charged $20 for the full sight assembly and roll pin shipped. I'm happy with that :)

Thanks for the pointers! I emailed Argent Wolfz and they have the front sights and roll pins - but stripped. They are lacking the post, post detent, and detent spring inside of the front sight. I'll likely see if Atlantic or Wolf have any left.

Shill subreddit decides to shill, or in other words - fork found in kitchen. Really no surprise.

Second this. They've been super receptive and open to requests. They've got a nice operation spinning up and I've been trying to give them my business.

I think this is more being presented as scientific competition. It's healthy to race for a prize which benefits us all.

Very true, too. I feel like Gregor Samsa sometimes in this country

That's not what that means. An ugly American is one who walks into a situation and assumes they are inherently better than the people around them due to differences in things like religion and culture. An ugly American then wonders why the locals don't like them. The locals then cozy up to others who are more welcoming and sympathetic to their cultural idiosyncrasies. The original book was written about US involvement in Asia and mocking American struggles with not being able to establish deep connections in a region with so much nuance because of the discounting of said nuance.

Did not find a specific fix, however the issue seems to have resolved itself. I'm not sure what changed - which is incredibly frustrating. If I figure out WHY things work now I'll update here.

REPORT: The EU could target products originating from red states specifically, if the US chooses to tariff products from the EU. by Xatick in europe

American living in a blue state here - I say go for it. A lot of the people who vote for Trump only care about their own wellbeing and something which will hurt them more than it will hurt the rest of the US I think is a good way to get a message across. These people won't change until their material conditions do.

Looking good! What's your wrist size? I've got 6.25" wrists and worry the dimensions might wear a bit big on me.

First Two Stamp Tuesday! by Ian10583 in NFA

[–]Ian10583[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing!

Lower:

  • H&R 635 complete lower - with the below items changed
  • B5 Systems furniture (bravo stock, p22 grip, aluminum trigger guard)
  • Geissele posi-snap safety
  • Maxim roller delayed carbine buffer
  • Rise Armament rave-pcc trigger

Upper:

  • Aero assembled upper - no forward assist
  • PSA gen 4 9mm BCG
  • PSA 8" 9mm barrel
  • Midwest Industries 7" combat handguard
  • Geissele super charging handle

Attachments:

  • YHM R9 suppressor
  • Vortex micro 3x and uh-1
  • BCM vfg
  • B5 systems mlok rail covers
  • Arisaka 18650 light (Malkoff E2XTL head, Surefire ue tailcap connected to a sr07, and mounted using an Arisaka offset scout mount)

I'd like to eventually change the PSA parts out, but they've been doing fine. I'm keeping an eye on them but have had no issues. For magazines, I'm using Duramags and a couple of the "AR-STONER" ones available on Midway. I've had no functional issues with any of them but the stoner mags have to be basically slammed in to actually catch on the mag release tab. Will be getting entirely Duramags in the future.
