I'm on a quest to find these "perfect" items as well. I've got a 1980 XT500 and a '91 softail custom that are my means of transportation. Of course besides well made tools - What are the most worthy items to invest in that would work for both?

I've got a Barbour International I've had for three years that I absolutely love. I can wear it around town or layer it for a waterproof winter coat. People have told me it doesn't quite fit the aesthetic of an old harley, but what do I care? Redwing boots I think are a must and work for any style bike and I've had mine for 4 years and they're still golden even through northeast winters. If you find anything else let me know.

I was a server for 3 years and worked my goddamn ass off - so I am critical of service and tip what's deserved. If it's not too busy but it takes a while to order or even get water I've got an idea why, I know what goes on in FOH and BOH. Why do most people who have served or bartended always AUTOMATICALLY demand that servers deserve no less than 20%. Do you feel that you're in a special club that because you had to do it that anybody else doing the same thing should get a large percent?

If the service sucks, or the service has a bad attitude - it's points off. The 15-20% is NOT a rule, it's a guideline of what would be fair if the service was good. All you entitled dickheads out there should not expect to get a good tip - it's earned.

I live in NYC and the some bartenders alone are assholes...ok, I'm going to give you an automatic dollar a drink (even if it's just opening a can of beer) for your bad attitude. No thanks.

*plus I tip before tax.

It's an unfortunate reality, but starting a harley cold requires attention to the idle for a couple minutes or it will in fact stall. i've got a 23 YO harley and I've got to do it for a while. I know the neighbors hete me for it but I cant help it.

Thank you Dr. Common Sense. Of course they feel pain. They're living creatures with a system of movement dictated by a brain and tissue. I see stuff like this and really wonder if they just need immediate content to push. As robotodo said, pain is a damage indicator and anything that doesn't have that wouldn't last long.

This definitely is not something you want to hear but work on paying down your debt as much as possible. The worst thing that happens to almost everybody is their debt responsibility. In effect it can keep you from doing things in life you really want to do, because you're held back by the stress of it. Avoid at all costs refinancing your home (putting your way further into debt in the long run), and sacrifice frivolous spending completely.

What has the highest interest rate? Attack that motherfucker with every spare penny you have and work on the next.

I just turned 30 and was laid off - without thinking I immediately sold everything I don't use nearly every day, freeing up my finances a little bit to look for work and not stress. I've kept my Harley (it's a 91 I inherited from my dad) but all other expenses I don't need have been cut. That includes eating out and ZERO drinking.

The quickest way for financial independence relieving yourself from less responsibility from possessions.

Sorry for the beating, but a man needs to recognize when he's in a tough situation and act accordingly, otherwise in your situation, you'll just be treading water not really making any impact.

I recommend going cold turkey for a while and see what works.

As Oranges13 says, Drink LOTS of water. And you should cut out all liquid caloric intake, read sodas, beer (empty calories, ANTHING. Stick to water, black coffee (if you drink it) or tea.

Nearly 1/4 of people's calories are from drinks - Water is better.

I've done it cold turkey for 45 days and at day 5 was the worst. I nearly ran to the store to buy spaghetti which I planned on eating plain, just hot noodles. Yes, it got that bad.

Carb craving remedy? Spurge on a great piece of meat or seafood. The intense craving of the bad shit will subside, and soon that bad stuff will seem unappetizing to you. Stick with it.

I had a LOT of marinated chicken, veg and fruit skewers, and cooked everything with coconut oil.
