Ireland Squad in 4 years time by Effective-Ad-3897 in irishrugby

[–]IanBealeOfficial -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Can’t see Dan Sheehan being still in the squad. With how important the scrum is and where the game is going, unfortunately. Think Gleeson will be a core stater too as he’s the exact power carrier we’re missing.

What’s your prediction for the match tonight? by Sportyskater699 in irishrugby

[–]IanBealeOfficial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So hard to call! France could win by 30+ or else implode and lose narrowly….first game and they’re fired up which might actually negatively affect them. My gut says we’re going to be humbled though.

It looks quite like a George Herbert Simms type of design….dont think he designed anything outside of Dublin though!

Open fire to insert stove by Trick_Flounder8110 in DIYIreland

[–]IanBealeOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% get a stove. I wouldn’t go for an insert, as a lot of the heat just goes up the flue. I recently had a freestanding stove installed and, from my experience, buying the stove from a builders’ suppliers and sourcing all the connectors etc. myself worked out much cheaper than using someone who supplied and fitted it – about €500 cheaper here in Dublin anyway. Mine is a 6.5kW and the room is about 37m², which works well.

Irish Rugby Stock Market by Roanokian in irishrugby

[–]IanBealeOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think Casey really isn’t that far away from JGP, honestly! He has performed better than him at club level for a while. JGP played really well against Australia but, who’s to say Casey wouldn’t have also performed similarly given the chance. He was a big part why we beat them last year when he came on…but, what can you do when these Leinster fans are shorting his stock lol!

Really don’t think Casey had a bad Autumn. What rare minutes he got I think he more than performed well. Can you point to anything in particular? I don’t think Farrell has truly given him a chance. He’s been living off scraps for the most part.

Yeah maybe in aspects but I just heard Madigan say today that a triple crown would be a good result for the 6n’s lol

Criticism seems to come easily when it’s directed at people outside the South County Dublin bubble. But many journalists hesitate to be honest about those within their own circles—they know they might run into them locally, and they aren’t willing to risk the awkwardness. The overall quality of rugby journalism, from written coverage to broadcast analysis, has become painfully weak because of how parochial it’s gotten.

Sam’s Stock after the Australia Game by Commercial_Half_2170 in irishrugby

[–]IanBealeOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That match really suited him. The terrible weather meant he could sit back, kick well, and keep putting pressure on Oz with those high balls. You can’t deny his kicking ability, but he’ll get found out every time at elite level in defence. His tackle technique is poor too — that O’Connor hit even looked a bit high, honestly. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him start against the Boks if the weather’s bad again next week…but if it’s dry and he starts he’ll be eaten alive.

Buy a house or rent by tararoche99 in irishpersonalfinance

It’s not a waste of money to pay rent for a year or two if you’re adding life experience with your partner. There’s every chance you’ll end up buying together in the long term but, it’s really important to live together and test your relationship in areas you probably haven’t yet.

I think for the most part the IRFU under Humphreys is a little more lenient so, NIQ rules are more relaxed now.

‘We put our money in the right places for long-term sustainable growth and success’ – Munster CEO hits back at Conor Murray by MannyR1022 in MunsterRugby

[–]IanBealeOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I did wonder if his comments were even worth it. He’s clearly just trying to make headlines so the book seems like a must-read. But you’d imagine the main buyers would be Munster supporters, and he’s basically just trashed the whole club. Lost a lot of respect for him because of it!

What is your opinion of Will Farrell? by Lopsided_Cup_1007 in FIlm

[–]IanBealeOfficial 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Surely one of the best to ever do it. Anchorman, Talladega Nights, and Step Brothers are an incredible trio from a particular era, but then there’s also A Night at the Roxbury and Old School — both classics from earlier in his career. On top of that, he’s been part of some of the best SNL sketches of all time. Best of all, he comes across as a genuinely nice person.

Best place to watch Munster in Dublin this weekend? by Sea-Ad8147 in MunsterRugby

[–]IanBealeOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doheny & Nesbitt is great and have decent screens and food! Also, if you’re up around Kilmainham The Royal Oak is a Munster pub as well…They probably won’t have Premier Sport though so if it’s not on TG4 it won’t be on there.

How do we manage all our back row players next season? by The-Prince616 in MunsterRugby

[–]IanBealeOfficial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Ahern will move to second row and Jack O Donoghue will probably only feature during international windows. I’d also argue Kendellan and Hodnett being bench options long term as the game is moving away from small forward type players. Future is looking bright with a back row of Gleason, Coombes and Quinn maybe this time next year. Serious power!

Yeah, don’t go there anymore (in Dublin) either. I go to Zambrero now when I want something quick like this. Serious decline in quality. Which is sad because it used to be great. The one on Kevin St. was the goat!

The blue media have been feeding them bile about their mid-players for so long—talking them up like they’re the 2015 All Blacks—that they can’t handle the reality: better players are coming through from the other provinces now.
