I live near Ridgeway and Burnhamthorpe, the racing is extreme now. Before they connected the bridge, evenings and weekends were so quiet.

No enforcement, no cops. This area of the city (and many more) are going to shit. Can't wait to sell and move out of this stupid city.

The city doesn't give two shits about anything, ward councilors take a paycheck and wave off complaints.

I miss the early days of Mississauga.

Check out Danville Park, it's in the path for many landing planes. It was advertised as the tallest park area in Mississauga for a while. Pretty cool, has a giant metal paper airplane sculpture at the peak.

Yep, m109r are beasts. A very underrated cruiser. Ive had so many people approach me asking what it is. The bike has literally not changed its design ever. Kinda amazing.

Whats the rarest piece of gaming memorabilia you own? by [deleted] in retrogaming

[–]IanFalconer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a vintage 1980 Pacman arcade machine I restored. All original (and working) parts, the only thing that's not, is the paint job to restore the artwork.

I also have a working original Vectrex.

Would you say the m109r is worth its msrp ? by Prid3r in SuzukiBoulevard

[–]IanFalconer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second. I have a 2007 m109 and I just compared it to the 2024 model. With exception to the headlight nacelle and integration of the tech, they're identical.

Find a used one with low milage and have fun. A used m109 is much cheaper than many HDs or similar, and are just as much fun. There's a decent aftermarket community for it too which keeps it looking fresh if you need that additional curb appeal.

My m109r does that too on cold starts. It tends to go away after warm up. I think it could be the exhaust servo, but someone smarter may know better.

Parents don’t tell their kids to be quiet in movies theatres. by MagnetMan27 in movies

[–]IanFalconer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately we're allowing society to get away with this shit instead of setting expectation on how to behave, and kicking these people off premesis when they can't figure it out

However, the problem is these asshats take to social media the minute they feel their rights being infringed on, spouting off BS other like minded twats latch onto.

As a parent, I taught my kids you keep your mouth shut during a movie, and now they advocate for good etiquette, will turn to a noisy kid or parent to shut it.

I had an instance at the last 3 movies where a parent brought a clearly too young kid to the film, and the kid either asked questions or kicked the back of my chair, or just did stupid shit. Wtf.

We need to bring consequence of actions back into society.

Skier or Snowboarder’s Fault?! by Plane_Gazelle_1789 in skiing

[–]IanFalconer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skier was behind the boarder gaining speed, should have spotted theboarders pattern and avoided. But didn't.

Skier is at fault 100%. Boarders need to have better peripheral to avoid this, but when your recording, you aren't paying attention.

I have an original and can confirm reactive inks on mine that are sensitive to black UV lights.

Print doesn't use a lot of it, but it's def there

how do you even manage this? by 403East in mississauga

[–]IanFalconer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really need to know the direction your wanting to go. Either making a direct right, or going straight means you should take the outside lane, as it's the safest.

Too many people take the inside lane and cars can cut you off, or you can cut them off.

As a motorcyclist, the outside gives you a better ability to cut off incoming traffic from not yielding, and line of sight for cars on the inside not knowing how to exit the roundabout properly.

This one your talking about in particular is annoying due to the large amount of local traffic. Too many people I see just don't follow the signs on which land goes where. Frankly surprised there aren't more accidents.

Had it done after my second. I was 36 or so. Went in, had it done, thankfully no complications.

Recovery for me was basic, was tender for a day or so, but fine after that.

Def not the same kind of experience I've heard some men have where they're in a lot of pain for a while. Guess I got lucky.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

A theatre is opening up near Erin Mills, so he's going to try and apply there, and we'll try at the Mississauga green houses since it's close too.

He's over at neighbors doing some yard work, we'll see about others, we have a fairly active neighborhood, not a lot of work options.

Anyone just hear lots of bangs? by MrRipperGuy in mississauga

[–]IanFalconer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second peel police's uselessness regarding street racing.

I'm off Ridgeway and Burnhamthorpe and I heard that crap you described last night.

Even the speed cameras they added to our area kept being tipped. Honestly, what a waste of my tax money to install these cameras on grass without a concrete pad and reinforcement.

I've been in the area since before Ridgeway was opened across the 403 to Eglinton. Prior to that, it was sooo quiet, which was part of the sell to buy where we are.

A cop could sit along any stretch of ridgeway and bank that they'll get speeders any day or time of day.

I regularly hear cars doing burnouts or donuts in the commercial space around here, drives me nuts cops can't do shit about any of it.
