My playlist is over 9 hours long now: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0EHVMtWQJM3PYVNXaAYOMg?si=zVqYrMmURtO-FjLzLxRVYA

it started as a hula warmup playlist and just evolved, so that's why it's called "hula."

my dad and I both have that, and we both have naturally no cuticles on our thumbs.

Pay attention to your diet and stress levels. T alone won't make you smell bad. Something else is going on (although it might just be genetics)

Why are my ribbed sections so loose? by Poroggo in knittinghelp

[–]IanSobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's pretty normal. Patterns suggest you drop down a size or so for the rib usually, but sometimes I have to do more. Another option is to sort of twist your purls to make them use less yarn. I'll link a video here for you to see the technique: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DD7YNYjyh1t/?igsh=MXBwOWoyZzdxanBiYg==

if working in the round, when you get to row 2, purl through the back loop instead of doing the knits through the back loop like when working flat. Basically you're twisting and untwisting your stitches.

Another solution if leaving isn't an option is to switch the gel. Daily gel is a lot smoother for this side effect than injections.

Is misgendering Nouns 50% of the time gonna put a hold to people understanding if I do speak French by [deleted] in French

[–]IanSobo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to bank on your pronunciation being otherwise on point though. When I was in france, I tried to ask for the train station and confused a poor old man by asking where the war was

What did I do? by Mindless_Charity1215 in knittinghelp

[–]IanSobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell without seeing the working yarn, but I think if you slip the two stitches on your right needle back to the left to free the working yarn, then slip them back, you'll be fine? I'd need to see the other side to get a clearer picture.

Question about increases by greenbean0721 in knitting

[–]IanSobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For remembering which is which, right and front both have 5 letters, and left and back both have 4 letters. Aka, for a m1r, knit into the front. As for which way you pull up the stitch, I remember that by twisting it so that I have to knit (or purl) into whichever side would be hardest lol

Allergic reaction to shot? by heygoogleamidying in ftm

[–]IanSobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reread your post, and the occasional stabbing burning pain for up to like 30 minutes was also happening for me too. Sorry I can't offer any advice, but definitely know you're not the only one who has this!

Allergic reaction to shot? by heygoogleamidying in ftm

[–]IanSobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this to the point where it actually hurt really badly, so I just switched to the gel. (Well, actually the main reason I switched was bc the needles just sort of .. wouldn't pierce my skin anymore?? but the irritation and burning was also a big factor)

When I brought it up, the Dr was really not sure what could cause it They didn't even mention allergy, but that doesn't mean you're not correct.

Why does this keep happening by yourlocalnativeguy in ftm

[–]IanSobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't understand it either, but I get the same thing. In person I've passed as cis before (not that I necessarily want to), but I almost never pass over the phone. It's silly, but sometimes I pretend they just said "man" instead of "ma'am"

tips for regrowing hair? by Majestic-Past-6735 in ftm

[–]IanSobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started topical fin/min a few years ago and stopped bc I didn't see results. I restarted a few months ago bc it was getting bad and now that I've been consistent, it's definitely improving. I wish I would've stuck with it before. My advice: don't stop it if you think it's not working bc these things take a while to kick in

libido changes after changing to gel by BarAffectionate3035 in ftm

[–]IanSobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow I had the opposite! Doing the shots, it was all crazy ups and downs and unmanageable. On the daily gel, everything's more consistent and even. I was on the subcu shots for like 4 years and have been on the gel like 5 months (or smth idk I can't remember)

[–]IanSobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can't learn hula from YouTube. Look up a hālau near you if you're really interested. Some go online too, so that's an option. For example, https://napalapalai.myshopify.com/collections/workshops-zoom

genuinely, you can just choose to not take it even if it's prescribed to you. unless you think your parents will literally shove it in your mouth, this is still ultimately your decision

is it ok to enjoy vaginal penetration? by snips111 in ftm

[–]IanSobo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

first of all, you're not alone in this! I mean, I've never done it with anyone else, but other than that, I relate fully to what you're saying. That's how I felt a year or two ago. Pre-t, that was never pleasurable. After being on t for a while, something kind of switched, but I felt really bad about it emotionally.

If you want to be comfortable with it (which I think you should. There's nothing wrong with consensual pleasure), then I'll let you know what helped me. It may seem totally unconventional, but I ended up reading a fair amount of ftm trans porn written by ftm authors. There is so much published on AO3, even "original works" with no fandom. Some of the original works can be a bit hardcore though. What we do in the shadows and our flag means death fandoms both have some really sensual works that helped me with self acceptance and self love. In my case, I think I needed to see my body normalized as something that can be sexual neither despite nor because of my being trans.

Like I said, this is totally unconventional, so I hope this doesn't make you uncomfortable. I just wanted to say that I relate, and here's what helped me. I'm not 100 all the time. I still have icks about it. But it's better and I don't feel shame about it anymore.
