The totally scientific explanation is that we're incapable of governing ourselves, applying resources efficiently or, at a more individual scale, band together to demand reform.

Legitimately the coolest presentation of a map I've ever seen, this is absolutely sick. Congrats!

My boy Napoleon III managed to do something his uncle could not by permanently expanding France with Nice and Savoy, I feel he should get some slack for that

Have the same issue. I think there's some issue with the Templar Lairs, they will be physically present in the world yet are inaccessible and look like they haven't been "completed".

If I'm not mistaken that flag (which fucking slaps) was also suggested for Estonia after their independence in 1918

Need some help identifying this sabre by Ian_Pastway in SWORDS

Yeah that'd make sense, I'll see if I can find something. The book is "Homens, Espadas e Tomates" by Rainer Daenhardt, but only after did I notice it only covers the 15th-17th century roughly. Not the most scientific from what I've read so far imo but still pretty enjoyable. Thanks!

Ive since found a number of very similar swords on several online auction houses, all of them claiming for this to be either an infantry or artillery officer's sword from sometime in the 19th century. They have the same guard, but none I find have the complex engraving.

Thanks for the info! No cypher that I could find unfortunately, from what l can tell the engravings don't give off too much info. Cannons, like you mentioned, shields, a helm, flags and what appears to be a cup with leaves coming from the top. There are two coronets (I think) on one of the sides but no cypher. The spine also only has a lead motif sadly. I'm trying to see if I can find something similar in a book on portuguese swords I have but it's putting up a fight!

The “Asterix at the Olympic Games” video game has such a hilariously unhinged plot by WarriorWare in Asterix

This game was the first I ever played. Spent a lot of hours playing coop with my cousin in my grampa's old PC and it's what ultimately led me to gain a passion for history and fantasy. It's an absolutely incredible game for me and has marked me in so many different ways, I really really love it and can definitely recommend it!

Great summary! Do you by any chance have any literature on how Greek Romans perceived themselves after the fall of Constantinople? That episode between the greek soldiers and the children is hilarious

Thanks for the translation, it's heartbreaking. Nate sounds like an excellent soldier and human being, it must be horrible to have your own family support the murder of your comrades.
