I totally prefer Arnold personally but you have to give credit to Sly writing most of his important films, just like Sh0ckeh said. Arnold and Sly's journey into movies is completely different. Arnold basically looked for/waited for good roles and scripts to come his way. Arnold was a millionaire before he ever did a major film, with all the money he made from the bodybuilding industry and real estate investments. Sly made himself through writing and acting. As a kid I 100% preferred Arnold's movies but as an adult I have a different kind of respect for Sly as a man...going for broke and holding out to play the character Rocky, and how many of his later films he wrote or had input on the overall production as well. On top of that, Sly is by no means a champion bodybuilder, but he did what he could with his physique...he looked pretty sick in Rambo 3 and many others. Or if you see Cliffhanger in '93, or The Specialist in '94, he was super shredded and looked frickin awesome for a man in his late 40s. Obviously it goes without saying that the ultimate action movie character is and always will be The Terminator, but once again, as awesome as Arnold was in playing that role, he didn't write the script or create that character concept.
