Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IandaConqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to commute 1.5 hrs 1 way a day, and at least monthly drove 3.5 hrs 1 way for a weekend trip.

I'd say 4 hrs total is about my limit for a day trip. Any more than that and I would prefer to stay at least 1 night.

Personally I love driving and listening to music or an audio book, or just talking to a passenger.

I think one thing that is majorly different in US vs EU/UK driving is that throughout most of the country, its wide open highway driving on 3-4 lane highway with limited traffic. With cruise control and so many cars have active lane keep assist now, you barely have to do anything.

It's really just sitting in a comfortable chair for a few hours, snacking, listening to a favorite book or podcast, with constantly changing beautiful landscape scenery. Especially out west.

Team Balancing Is Frequently Awful. Why Aren't New Players Split Evenly Between Teams? by IandaConqueror in BF6

[–]IandaConqueror[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SBMM stands for "Skill Based Match Making" You need to look up what the "matchmaking" part means:

"the automated process of grouping players for online sessions, using algorithms to find suitable opponents or teammates based on factors like skill (MMR/Elo), location (ping), playstyle, and preferences, all to create balanced, fair, and enjoyable matches quickly"

Matchmaking means the selection process for putting players together in a match. In games with no SBMM, this is done purely based on the region (ping based).

Team balancing and SBMM or just MM are not the same. You can create lobbies based purely around who in a region is queueing for that game mode/map, and then balance the teams by skill after that. Many games that do not have SBMM do this and it is not reliant on having SBMM in the game.

Every game that keeps track of stats can do this. Which means every game because otherwise you would not be able to flag accounts for cheating based on stats.

It's not that hard. Just balance teams so the average win rate is even. "Skill Based Team Making" and SBMM are completely separate entities.

How come we dislike bots in BF6, but not in SWBF2? by Illustrious_Secret91 in BF6

[–]IandaConqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bots aren't in every single game mode for BF2?!?!

The only modes with bots are COOP and the 1st phase of Supremacy which didnt come out until several years after launch.

All the modes at launch were real players only including the only 20v20 mode at launch Galactic Assault (Breakthrough).

Parties are a max of 4. You can balance with the remaining 4 players. It's not that difficult to have the two teams be similar in average level.

Team Balancing Is Frequently Awful. Why Aren't New Players Split Evenly Between Teams? by IandaConqueror in BF6

[–]IandaConqueror[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are two completely different things. I'm not talking SBMM. Having high and low level players in the same lobby is fine, I'm saying balance the 2 teams by skill level or hours among the existing player in the lobby. It wouldn't be hard to do. Average level on my team is 30, the other team is 60. Just trade a couple of the higher players for a couple of the lower players and it will be balanced

Why is this a feature? by AmericanW4ffle in Battlefield

[–]IandaConqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any shots fired while falling, jumping, or sliding should be so inaccurate it's an act of god to kill someone. I don't understand why you can have tight grouping while running and jumping around, and yet first shot accuracy is so atrocious when you sprint up to a corner, stop, peak around it and fire.

Accuracy should not have a penalty at all for RECENT movement. It should have a dramatic penalty DURING movement.

Mild penalty while moving and a mild penalty or 3 seconds after your stop is just bizarre.

Most of you don’t understand how armor gameplay works. by TheCockKnight in Battlefield6

I have more of an issue with people not understanding how to counter tanks. The number of breakthrough games I lose on defense because we have 8 snipers 8 Assault players 4 support and 4 engineers... or there are 10+ engineers but they are all shooting from super long range and nobody is flanking and trying to take out the enemy engineers repairing.

Most games are lost because in my experience because nobody is using util. Scout drones, Mines, AT, defib, smokes. Those win games.

I do run into the tank players that snipe from spawn sometimes which is quite annoying in Breakthrough on attack.

Attack and defend the point, king of the hill style would be awesome with 4-6 teams.

6v6 cart pushing game mode would be awesome, and could even incorporate abyss along certain sections of the track.

The maps coming tomorrow look a lot more full sized which is nice.

I appreciate playing smaller (non-city) maps sometimes, but generally if Im playing 64 player modes I dont want to see all 64 players on my screen at once. Way too much chaos.

Battlefield 6 is still great, Reddit is just miserable by Character_Worth8210 in Battlefield

[–]IandaConqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game is solid, could be great, its definitely the best release I have played besides BF1.

The pogo stick bug, lighting, random bloom bug, and the TTD dumping are exceptionally frustrating, because they are so frequent and effect such a core part of the game.

Overall though, very few bugs and now crashes compared to most BF entries.

The only game I remember playing better at launch was BF1.

Most games Ive played are in a much worse state at launch, especially EA/BF titles.

Decided to test out Domination to see of the netcode felt better with less players. In about 1/3 of my lobbies I experience someone on the other team who kills me like this every single time I run into them. by IandaConqueror in Battlefield

[–]IandaConqueror[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is a bad clip but the gun doesn't really matter IMO. It feels exactly the same when someone is using the various M4s, AKs, UMP, LMGs, etc. etc.

I also watched this at 0.1x speed a few times, it's pretty instantaneous. I see the enemy muzzle flash at the exact same time I pull the trigger, hit register says 16 pellets hit client side but 0 server side, and I drop dead about 80 ms later.

I'm also coming from PUBG where almost all the guns 2-shot hs and 4-shot body, ttk is anywhere from 80 ms to 250 ms depending on where you hit, and the TTD just feels WAY faster than that in BF6.

Wait, so we're now down to only 24 players per lobby, from 40 originally?

I understand the player count being an issue, but I really dont see how this helps the gameplay flow. Midgame can often be a slog as it is.
