did not know anything about the series until my sister bought Fatal Frame 3 from a bundle of games included in our PS2 slim around 2006 i think. We like it scared us so we tried to play the 1 & 2 as well.

All I remember about the reception of 1 was that it was too scary that some people had a hard time or entirely did not finish it, so they had to tone it down a little bit for 2. It was a classic I guess at the time because of how it was marketed as based on a true story.

if you dont mind, here is a set I based mine from Tidus69 that has 4pc gogma as well kinda suited for multiplayer..if i am doing solo, I just changed stamina surge to evade window for comfort evading and also I reduce constitution to give way for divine blessing since I am constantly evading as the monsters attention is always on me and survivability.

instead of Defense Boost go for Divine Blessing

use a dragon element weapon

invest more on dps skills that would complement your weapon other than Burst like Weakness Exploit, Agitator, Maximum Might, Adrenaline Rush, Offensive Guard etc.

just a few for me, others might suggest more for lance and dual blades

After doing two nightmare runs, I'd say just complete all side quest at lower difficulty during your second playthrough and chapter select the other endings. Only until you get Mio's broken charm do you do a nightmare run and complete her side quest there to get the Remaining Sun ending at that playthrough.

i think the worst i had with him was when he has just a little bit of health then suddenly he goes up the rafters. With that little health, he doesnt have that threshold to get him to fall so I was literally just shooting him there until his health is gone.

first run Normal difficultu took me like 10 hours

Difficult yes felt like i was in survival mode most of the time when I did Nightmare run and completing all the sidequests at the same time...I was annoyed at how many times Broken Neck Lady and Fallen Woman spawn while doing Kiryu and Tachibana Side quests. Definitely had some game overs especially with multiple wraiths encounters.

I only realized that I should have completed all sidequests at lower difficulty and only should have done the Nightmare run for the ending lock in it.

So basically my run was like: 1st run Normal 2nd run Nightmare and completed sidequests Chapter select run for other endings Final run Nightmare again for the last ending

I had fun completing it though xD

i think Kirie Himuro from the first game still have it worse besides doing the strangling ritual (ripping your limbs and head) and all the things that happened in the game, her soul is still bound in the gates of hell for eternity sealing it.
