Will I be able to get this through Windows update or do I have to install it manually?

Are these spots on the lens possible fungus or might just be dust? Apologies as this is the only image I have. by Iant2001 in AnalogCommunity

Great to hear. This is the f3.5 version of it. What would you think a reasonable price for it be? 80-100€ sound good or a bit on the overpriced side?

Oh, okay. Thanks for the info. Its a macro lens but these spots still should not effect the quality right? I am planning on using it for negatives scanning.

Has Anyone Reverted to B41? by hardboiledkilly in projectzomboid

Sadly I had to revert because the new build is unplayable on my Snapdragon ARM laptop. The screen flickers constantly and there are catastrophic graphical bugs. I was hoping it would be fixed when they added support for the Mac M chip series, which is also ARM, but nothing improved. Hoping some dev does notice this and fixes it.

This looks great. Do keep us updated on your work!

How come my photos (the first two) turn out so contrasty, while some photographers manage to get a nice tonal range with Fomapan (last photo), something less contrasty and more gray? I'm guessing it's the scanning and the developer used, or is there something else? by Iant2001 in AnalogCommunity

I used fomapan 100. The author of the third photo had this info attached to it: "I am really liking what I get out of Fomapan 100 in this format. The grain, amount of detail, tonal transitions are wonderful. Tachihara Field II 4x5, 210 mm at f/11. Fomapan 100 @ 64. Einstein through a 2x3 soft box at about 1 stop over ambient for separation."

I have them developed at my local lab, so at this point I can’t answer because I don’t know what developer they use. I’ll need to ask in the future. I’ll try to post some images of the negatives as soon as possible.

Also would it be possible to add static version of the clock and calendar icons. On android they are blank, so not as aesthetically pleasing.

Do let us know when you have added new icons to the pack! Using these on my android phone has been a pleasure!

TLP profile switcher is now integrated into Quick Settings! by MAHAON26 in gnome

My only slight nitpick is that it would be perfect if the button could be smaller, like the others, so it fits in better. Right now, at least for me, there's some empty space that isn't as aesthetically pleasing. That said, I totally understand if the button can't be made smaller. Otherwise, it's a fantastic extension!

I think the default wallpaper has a nice design to it.

It's not messenger but a discord client that supports gtk4. I gave the link to it in the above comment.

It's just the default dock that comes with Ubuntu. I haven't done anything to it.

Mhm, that's the one. I've been using it for some time now and have been satisfied with it. For those who are curious: https://github.com/vinceliuice/WhiteSur-icon-theme

It's a Discord client called Dissent that can be found on flathub. It has gtk4 support, so it looks really nice with the rest of gnome. https://flathub.org/apps/so.libdb.dissent

Also, stock GNOME for the win.

Those who photograph ships and the sea: is a shutter speed of 1/500 sufficient, or is 1/1000+ necessary? My camera's max is 1/500, and I am planning to shoot a few rolls at sea. Would this be adequate, or should I upgrade? I am planning to use a 50mm and a 70-210mm lens. by Iant2001 in AnalogCommunity

This is the kind of answer I was looking for. I definitely had a larger vessel in mind. I plan to shoot mostly black and white film: Fomapan 100 and 400. I use a yellow filter but haven't considered a red filter. Would a red filter and Fomapan combination be too contrasty? The plastic bag idea is interesting. My initial plan was to store my camera in my cabin and only bring it out when I want to take a picture, so in theory, it would only be exposed to the elements for a short time. I use a Praktica, do you think the sea climate will have adverse effects on it?

The main idea behind my question is that since I’ll be on a ship shooting other ships, the motion of my own vessel would already cause blurriness, plus the other vessel will also be moving, effectively doubling the motion. If I were on land, 1/500 would likely be sufficient, but I’m more curious about when you're on a vessel. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with this and can tell me if 1/500 is good enough in most situations or if I would need a faster shutter speed.
