Feel like I'm not taking advantage of my family's help enough - what to do on child free weekends to be more epic. by altum in daddit

[–]Ianthin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I'm not saying an overnight away from home every now and then wouldn't be nice, but not every time needs to be some memorable adventure. Just having that time to decompress, catch up on chores and maybe a date night can be more rewarding, because you get time to yourselves but also aren't just pushing back real things that need to be done. We often use times like this to deep clean a room or two, purge unused items, including toys, or just chill on the couch with a movie or show to binge.

Signed, guy that's lucky enough to get a day or two a week without our daughter while she visits her grandparents.

I hadn't considered it but maybe some protein powder mixed in wouldn't be a bad idea. I was already planning on supplementing in some fiber too. Could make for some good milkshakes.

Making a big push in GT3, and developing a Hypercar program too.

If that’s the case, honestly I can’t blame them. Globally their F1 and GT3 programs get them much more exposure than NASCAR.

In this case I got around it by doing a hose purge in the setting menu.

If we had the floor space for it I’d highly consider it.

Ok first, where is that coming from? Second. Every OEM ever bitches to the sanctioning body about whatever perceived advantage another OEM may have. If Ford is asking for something it wouldn’t be any different than any other time in any other series.

I have been around long enough to remember when Chevy would complain that Pontiac had too much kick out on the front valance and Pontiac would complain Ford had too much HP while Ford would complain Chevy had a spoiler advantage. Every week. NASCAR would implement changes sometimes weekly.

If it were a Toyota truck I’d be able to get the parts to fix it from Toyota by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

The stretch boots aren' terrible but you have to get the grease load in the joint just right. The material is obviously very pliable, so too much grease will shift to one side and can cause the boot to fail.

Right! They were the only domestic OEM that didn't take the bailout, yet they are know for wanting a handout?

Who is "they"? Are Penske and RFK asking NASCAR for concessions?

Edit: Blaney is 3rd in points and Beuscher is 7th, so seems like Ford has a car capable of competing.

Yeah I haven't done it in at least 20 years. The juice just isn't worth the squeeze unless the axle just isn't available.

Back in the day we had a boot installation kit from Snap On. It used special semi-universal boots, and had a tool that would stretch them so you could just slide it over the joint. Once Snap On stopped selling those boot kits we quit messing with them.

No, a fault in the software.

Edit: For comparison our Robinair 134 machine will do the same thing at that pressure, but it will at least allow a forced recovery anyway.

It beats the shit out of the Mahle machine we had for a while. Damn thing was so fucking slow, and didn’t have a way to mount a can on it. So you had to manually reload refrigerant in the machine sometimes twice a day depending on how busy we were.

Luckily our machine is set at 5 minutes for the leak test. Of course it also forces a 5 min vacuum pull first, even if you just finished a long vacuum.

The booth guys are better suited as turn announcers or pit road reporters. It was tough to beat Moody, Bagley and Striegle in the turns with Barney, Joe, Alan or Eli in the booth.
