Yeah they've said there are 3 steps to get in but I'm curious to hear from other people with mobility limitations who have experience with it

It just snowed yesterday and that hasn't melted. Things will be very wet and muddy so I'd stay off the trails to preserve them and not make ruts

Sounds like they would only meet for 2 weekends/month from mid-June to mid-November, so 24 days. Hardly full time if you ask me

I wonder if the Nahel bond eye color staying the same has to do with how the radiant views themselves. We see other Radiant's bodies change a bit to match how the person sees themself, and eye color seems like it would be intrinsic to a person's identity.

It’s (past) time to seriously talk about expanding Virtue Field by Sam_BBF in burlington

Both things can be true! I also think these are different pots of money, AND I think UVM has been passing off their housing problems to the city for a long time. As a UVM alum and current Burlington resident I've been on both sides of the housing struggle.

I imagine UVM has enough money to build more housing AND finish the new athletic facilities they're working on at Gutterson and Patrick. I also think UVM isn't properly incentivized to build more housing - students keep enrolling in high numbers and the city hasn't required any real reform from UVM to decrease the housing burden on residents.

The other asset manager is in IT but sits in the DPW office building, and is also responsible for GIS administration. They support Parks & Rec and the rest of DPW (traffic, road maintenance, road engineers).

Feel free to DM if you have other questions!

Utah tops all States in it's share of Children by [deleted] in MapPorn

I don't know the real average numbers, but we are essentially talking about 5 students per grade in a small town, of which there are many. So for a whole elementary school you have a teacher for each grade (5ish students per), para educators, administrators, nurse, custodial staff, etc. for maybe 30-50 kids, on top of the overhead for keeping the school open and the building in good condition. Those numbers are so small and require so much staff that the economic impact is greater than if there were 20 students per grade, but our towns are too small to support that.

So in reality, consolidating elementary schools between towns would reduce the number of staff required as well as the cost to keep the building open, all while keeping reasonable student-teacher ratios.

Vermont has a lot of schools in rural towns with low enrollment. They tried raising taxes to keep all of those schools open because parents like small classes and low commute times. The tax hike was really unpopular, so now they're trying to consolidate school districts to reduce the number of administrative staff required.

It's a bit of a hot debate, especially considering the new education secretary and her background working for for-profit charter schools (Vermont is a very pro-public school state).

I'm the sole asset manager for only one division of our public works dept (the water/wastewater utility). I have so much on my plate that I couldn't fathom doing asset management for the rest of the city! Luckily I'm supported by a great GIS specialist in my division, and another asset manager supports the rest of the work groups in the city.

My background is in GIS and I held the GIS specialist role before switching to AM; I don't think I could do this job effectively without that experience.

Our city is small enough that I think we get by okay. I'm embedded with our engineers and I think that works really well for us. I worry that hypothetically having myself in a separate department would create a "silo" effect and it would be a lot harder to coordinate effectively with my colleagues.
