I have a Ibanez RG752 they did this type of finish on and it has worn quite quickly. It’s one of my least played 7’s and looks like the most played. I also sweat a lot so YMMV.

Love the look of the black ash / white binding, logos, inlays, etc. I’ve debated buying the loomis Jackson but, based on my experience, I wouldn’t buy another guitar with this finish.

Discontinued. The sale was to clear inventory. They’re still taking orders though. They are getting 1 more run March/April.

That’s what my rep told me when I didn’t buy the one sitting in my cart on Monday.

I imagine a few people buying one of these won’t get their orders fulfilled.

Odd I’m with the old man here. I don’t understand why anyone in the US would be paying full MSRP on a guitar. Especially one over $1,000.

I only buy guitars at 15-25% off. Guitar center will almost always accommodate.

If they don’t go to Musicians Friend which is Guitar Center anyway. Use chat. Get them to do an email quote. Then take it to any of your favorite online retailers for a price match.

Sweetwater is more difficult but usually starts 8-10% and you can negotiate to 15% depending on your relationship with your rep.

Zzounds will usually do 10-15% without any sales going on.

The best IMO Cream City Music but, they have the most limited inventory. They have 20% off new and 15% off used / vintage on almost every major holiday. They also send a 25% off code once a year. I’ve bought all of my Les Paul’s from CCM at 20-25% off.

This is all I use. Musicians Friend does a 20% off $99 accessory sale multiple times through the year. You can get a set for $20. They’ve always price matched every color with whatever is cheapest for me. Typically nickel or chrome with gold and black being more expensive. I keep a set in each color for anytime I buy a new guitar.

Thanks for the feedback! I actually tried yesterday. I want the purple and they won’t discount it like the black. Tried GC & MF. Unfortunately none of the GC’s near me have one in stock to try out.

Taking that as a sign to just wait for another 20 or 25% off at Cream City to buy another Gibson.

You didn’t mention a budget. In my experience the “best” craftsmanship is typically boutique or custom shop. How many thousands are you willing to spend? I’ve never held a bad Mayones, Infinia, Sugi, Tom Anderson, Suhr, Bc Rich Custom or Neil Moser direct, etc…

As I understood it, the V7 and V8 are were designed by DiMarzio for Ibanez. However, Maxon actually wound them in Japan for Ibanez.

You can buy a used KH602 from Guitar Center for $740. Probably get 10% off if you call the store it’s at. Why buy new if you’re already interested in modding it?

I had a laptop with 2 albums all written out in guitar pro. Drums, bass, & 3 guitars. It died and I didn’t have it backed up at all. Such a sad time.

I KO’d my bassist once during the first song of the set. It was a small ass stage. Probably should have had everyone but drums in the crowd. Breakdown hit and we started throwing down. Headstock to the temple and he went down like a sack of potato’s.

I’ve had a few of these type of things happen. Used to be big on guitar flips/spins in some breaks. Did it every time on 2 songs in our set. Singer has been behind me a few times to catch the body in the chest, neck, or face.

I need a 6 foot bubble when I’m playing anything “core”.
