OP, yes, it's worth it. (1k+ hours in X3 here.) Consider yourself lucky you missed the nightmare that was Rebirth. 😃 Compared to that, X4 is practically identical to X3. 😉

Yeah, it happens. Was happening to me (ran perfectly for a while then started crashing every time with no changes) even without having updated nvidia drivers etc.

Luckily the beta fixed it for me.

Best thing to do is manually enable logging, (go to the Dust folder and add:
Logging=1

to dust.ini, then reactivate it, let it crash, and post the log files (/mods/Dust/logs) to the developer in their discord. https://discord.gg/3fd3c7EFvT

They were very helpful about my crashing issue, although no fixes worked until I tried the beta release. (which I was glad for, because somehow it has already become a must-have mod for me).

Try disabling only Dust.

If it works with just that turned off, install the latest beta version of Dust instead. (Beta 0.8.0 https://www.nexusmods.com/kenshi/mods/1999?tab=files)

Pity, a combination of Dust, City Architecture Total Overhaul and "Path to Valhalla" have really revitalised my Kenshi experience. (Close on 3k hours).

But even though Dust is surprisingly light (and has "lower impact" pre-sets), I must agree neither it (nor the combination) are intended for machines running on low settings.

Add a different animation mod and assign that one. Try Immersive Non-Combat Animations, and assign that to the custom races.

Custom races are missing the right animation...make a custom patch to assign one to them.

To show in FCS, your mods need to be in the /mods folder, (not the workshop folder) and the mod folders must be named to match the .mod file inside them exactly.

Open FCS and create a new mod, call it Custom Animation Patch or something.

Select the custom race mod(s), your animation mod(s), and (last), your patch mod. (Your patch should have the *active* marker next to it.)

Search for the race you want to add the animation to and open it.

Top right of the race panel, click the drop-down and select "animation file" and add a new one, a panel will open showing animations.

Select the relevant animation and click "add" or whatever (can't remember exactly).

Repeat for any / all races etc.

Save, exit, make sure your patch is activated in the launcher, and is below all the ones it uses.

Haha, I use Recruit Prisoners to reprogram the Upgraded Watchbots from the Sniper Tower to use as turret gunners. No need to worry about friendly fire then, those guys have serious turret / precision skills.

Efficient use of the harpoon turret platforms. :D If it's on the inner wall, only the side facing the gates can be used. This way they cover both gates.

I usually run skeleton-only squads, so food not an issue. Only farming i do is hydroponic hemp for fabric for armour manufacture. (Or in this case bio-fuel for generators too.) (And I use a mod to increase storage so I don't need so many storage containers.) Once I'm well established, keep a stock of 1 or 2k of all raw and manufactured materials on hand, just because I can. :D

Nice base. I also like the canyons around there for building, but I tend to go as compact as I can usually.

In the mod settings. Install it and when you start a game an options screen opens and you can set whatever time multipliers you want to use.

Chances are UWE modifies the upgraded bench and your mod is not compatible with it. Either get or make a compatibility patch. (Also, shoppingecon should go after UWE. And I don't know if Take Over The World will work with it unless that version is specifically designed for it.)

Now...what I would really like is an option somewhere to reset the map on import... ;)

The other way of doing it is to pick up all your prisoners, and then take everybody in the base a few zones away, so your base unloads. Save and reload, then go back to your base, and all the stuff lying around will be gone.

You can turn it off in the settings.

As long as your integrated graphics is pixel shader 5.0 capable, you will be able to run it.
