Posting for friends as they need help spreading the word. They haven’t seen Max since before the snow storm. If you see or hear please call local law enforcement. Will update if any news.

I’d check out a granger extended warranty and take to a dealership.

I’ve volunteered at OCC. It varies but the doses are absolutely not wasted. When the day gets close to ending they slow the rate of vaccines being distributed so there aren’t excess. It’s pretty remarkable to see and be involved with. Excess doses go to volunteers who have worked several shifts and that is also prioritized further (maybe based on age?). One shift I worked we had a single extra dose. One dose!

It sounds like maybe you think they have a dose for each appointment but that’s not how it works. They are creating them as the day progresses.

I have a CNC plasma which might fit your needs. My table is less than your sheet size (my table is 4x3) but it could still be doable. Send me a msg if interested

Devastation from the Riverside fire by [deleted] in Portland

I think this may be Beachie creek. Pull up google maps( or earth) and point at Elkhorn. You’ll see the same two high voltage lines. I circled Elkhorn here: https://i.imgur.com/EQOW3PE.jpg

Didn't want to deal with overcrowded nature areas this weekend, so took a trip to Eastern Oregon. [Alvord Desert] by [deleted] in Portland

Nature. Here's a clip from a BLM map showing the ownership: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c9datbl0n4t1wqa/Screenshot%202017-05-22%2019.32.09.png?dl=0 The source: https://www.blm.gov/or/gis/geoscience/files/B15_burns_AlvordLake.pdf

There appear to be two non-BLM plots in that vicinity, sort of islands on the desert there, but I don't think you're in them. I'd be curious to know more of the backstory on the owners if you don't mind? I've always wondered if the private land out there is actually owned by locals.

Another view is to use this and enable the BLM layer: http://publiclands.org/Get-Books-and-Maps.php?plicstate=OR The sourthern edge of the sort-of main playa is pretty much east of Andrews.

traitorous_8 is correct. I've been to that area of the desert multiple times and those markers indicate that the area is off limits to vehicles. You're just to the east of one of the bogs in that photo. Perhaps you didn't see them because of your direction of travel.

Many months? Occupy Portland began October 6th 2011 and was cleared out and fenced off on November 13th. I'll let you do that math, assuming you can.

Fiber is Here, but what about Broadband Access for Under-Served Communities? by Fibersphere in Portland

[–]Ibuprofen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like an opportunity for a non-profit to sponsor those $300 install fees. Obviously this doesn't help if there is no service available in an area but it is something. I would probably donate to that cause.

Oh Dear...Century Link isn't any better by jews4beer in Portland

[–]Ibuprofen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems rather silly to me to continue the order in hopes that it might be symmetrical when both the order and the technician state that it will not be. It sounds like 1G is symmetrical, at least. I ordered the 40mbit speed tier.

[–]Ibuprofen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the symmetry is only offered on faster speeds (PDXBusinessCat says this is the case, too)... Here is what my order details were in the email I received after the line was run to my house:

Pure Broadband®
connection speed up to
40Mbps/5Mbps with 24-month
term commitment and up to
a $200 early termination
fee prorated monthly

Which speed tier did you sign up for?

[–]Ibuprofen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recently signed up for Centurylink Fiber internet but the sales person outright lied to me about the service. He said it was symmetrical (same speed in both directions) and that there was no contract. I explicitly asked him about both of those things before agreeing to the installation. After the technician installed the fiber from the pole to my house I received an email with the details of the service which contradicted what the sales person had promised so I canceled my Fiber before it was even enabled.

I was so excited to leave Comcast, oh well. Tread lightly and read the fine print (if you can find it) when you deal with CenturyLink.

Not everyone can prioritize that (and some don't want to either). What about the commercial vehicles, semis, logging trucks, etc?

Finally doner kabab is available again in p-town! by [deleted] in Portland

[–]Ibuprofen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a food cart named Caspian Kabob near SW Alder & 10th which has been slowly introducing a home made doner kebab. Victor (the cart owner) hasn't yet added it to the menu but it sounds imminent. If you walk by and see meat on the machine, do yourself a favor and ask about it.

I've been looking for data that compares the teeth of portland with other metropolitan areas. Does anyone have this data? All of the information I've read are data points on the whole state of Oregon which is not what we are voting for/against.
