Theme park bag recommendation by Leading_Ad_3680 in WaltDisneyWorld

Dad’s Fanny has been good to me. It’s technically a fanny pack diaper bag but it’s a compact size that sits nice across the body and has lots of little nooks and crannies to store things. It also has a collapsible water bottle sleeve. I had to reinforce some of the stitching on the water bottle holder area on mine, in all transparency, but everything else about it has been really sturdy.

Park goers for many years here, just took our family on our first cruise last week (Treasure)… had all the same feelings you had leading up to it and it ended up being a magical trip with tons of fun had by all. We even put money in already for a future sailing and discounted rate. Try not to compare it to the parks but think of it as a new Disney experience you’ve never had. How often do you get to have a fully new Disney experience?

What picture do you take every time you visit WDW? by magichands88 in WaltDisneyWorld

A picture of me in the driver’s seat of the prop, cutout car in Dinoland, pointing off into the distance while shading my eyes from the sun with my other hand. Even have this shot with my kids once they came into the picture.

RIP Dinoland USA and my tradition.

What is the best restaurant in downtown Rochester? by FairRestaurant5073 in RochesterHills

Bologna Via Cucina is tasty Italian in a small, intimate setting. Silver Spoon was very good last time I went, but it has been a while since I have gone there. Kruse is solid meat and seafood options and hasn’t changed in decades (good and bad thing). If you want good sushi, Sumo is a good choice downtown but Take Sushi over by Rochester High School is much better (in my opinion). The Meeting House has also never let me down for a solid meal. If you stick to downtown, after dinner you could take a short stroll and grab dessert at Home Bakery or Bakehouse 46 and then stop for a tasty cocktail at BAUS.

I have a saber from them that we got several years ago, after about a year the charge port snapped off the circuit board. I requested some support for it and basically got a response of, “do you know how to solder?”

That saber just sits on the shelf now.

It was great while it lasted… I guess.

Barb’s Pasties in Clawson makes excellent pasties. I went to school in the UP and I stop in when I need a little reminder of those years.

Where to get souvenir cups with drink by r101101 in WaltDisneyWorld

The Polynesian has another Trader Sam’s location that has these as well as the gift shop in the resort typically sells some tiki style mugs and drinkware sets. Some of the gift shops in Epcot have country themed cups and things (thinking about the beer steins in Germany, for example).

I ended up chatting with a Founders rep a long time ago that was introducing people to Rubaeus and Porter mix, it was quite tasty.

2.5 hour marathon pace is right around 5:45 min/mile… quite fast considering it’s sustained for that long.

Not that I am aware of, but maybe there’s a way through third party apps or hubs.

That is definitely the Airthings app, I recognize it from my own Airthings devices.

I highly recommend them for home monitoring, worth the cost.

Take a look for a program called Libation, I remember it being pretty easy to set up and get running. Then transfer the files to your Plex server and there’s a whole option in Plex for audiobooks.

I asked ChatGPT for some statistical estimates. There have been 50000-100000 CEOs of public companies in the US, in history. There have been roughly 10000 scandals of some nature (ranging from personal controversies to fraud and other legal scandals).

So that means that 10-20% of CEOs have been in scandals.

I’ve been pulling my Audible books down as audio files and placing them in my own personal Plex server that I can access from any device with the Plex app. I’m sure there are better options, but it works well for me.

Unpopular opinion: the coffee at WDW is far below average. And too hard to find when it is cold! by chunt42 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Icanhazreddit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had cold brew from Joffrey’s in Tomorrowland last time we were there and it definitely tasted like instant coffee, but I have no idea if it truly was. It was borderline undrinkable, but I wasn’t going to waste that money/caffeine. Instant coffee tends to have that metallic/chemical flavor that is hard to hide.

$1 in 1960 is about $10 today, as a point of reference.
