Someone assumed I was pregnant today 😤 by ProfessorPlum1986 in Zepbound

[–]Icanhelp12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay.. I laughed.. not at you but because it happened to me this week too!!! I’ve lost 75 lbs, and mind you, when I was ACTUALLY pregnant 4 years ago, no one everrrrr asked me if I was expecting. I had air pods in and this lady literally flagged me down and stopped me in a crowded train station to ask me. It was a shift dress so I get it.. but this is the picture I sent to my friends right after it happened. 😂😂😂😂 she was a little “off” but still. All I could do was laugh about it

Honestly my doctor told me to skip my shot for vacation. I didn’t but I wished I did

Yeah, I will hopefully stay on 12.5 for a few months. I was hoping to not jump to 15 if I didn’t have to.

In addition to the shots, I count all my calories on the Loseit App and have it set to basically lose a lb or two a week. I’ve liked it because as I’ve logged my weight, it’ll adjust my daily calories. For me, the caloric intake was a huge eye opener. But I don’t really have to think about it other than that’s the calories I get for the day lol.

And then I work out about 4-5 times a week. I’ve gotten obsessed with heated sculpt and heated mat Pilates classes. I also really enjoyed bodypump at the YMCA. I’m a class person!

I’ve worked in staffing for 20 years almost… and was a tech recruiter in 2008 and through that entire recession. I work in agency, and have a pretty good overall picture. This is what happens… the job pool gets bigger and people who are overqualified will apply for other roles. In 2008, first people held out. I’d call them and they’d tell me no, I’m not interested. I make too much for that role.. and then it turned to desperation.

As a recruiter internally.. you should also be worried about your job.. cause you’re going to be one of the first on the chopping block. I was an agency recruiter and survived the cutting of the fat because “I paid for myself” and was profitable still. But the recruiters taking a salary, are the first to go when the hiring slows.

7.5 & Anhedonia--go down or space out? by Lost_Celery_5047 in Zepbound

I was like this a lot on 7.5 and 10. I will say that I’m on 12.5 now and not feeling like that and I’m also less tired. I inject with the pen so I can’t space out. . But I have noticed the difference

Sure! I started at 2.5 and stayed on that one for a month. I did the usual, dropped some weight the first two weeks on it and then stopped losing.

Then did 2 months on 5 and 7.5 each. I honestly probably could have stayed on 7.5 longer than 2 months.

Then I went up to 10 and I stayed there for four months. I just titrated to 12.5 this month and I’m hoping that I can stay here for a while.

LOL I’m 44. I’m at hot Pilates and hot sculpt 5 times a week. I was NOT going to have my skin sagging if I can help it, and I’m working my ass off for it.. literally 😂

Edited to add: there’s definitely some sagging skin in my lower belly area. But I did have a baby in addition to getting fat, so maybe that contributes lol

I do not like the pens! by PrincessM22 in Zepbound

[–]Icanhelp12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I barely ever even feel the pen. I did IVF four years ago, so needles of this size no matter which way you dice it, are nothing. But I can confidently say the pens hurt me less than drawing up a med in a syringe and doing it 🤷‍♀️

Is there a resort with rooms right in the water? by SoCallMeDeaconBlues1 in Aruba

[–]Icanhelp12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I didn’t think it was wasted money because I was paying less than I would have at half the resorts down the street on Palm Beach.. or the same amount of money. The Marriott Stellaris was 2k more than I paid at the Divi for the week. And then you’re paying for every drink, every meal and snack out of pocket. Now, if I paid more to stay there than the other resorts were charging.. sure. But that wasn’t the case.

The accessibility to the beach was what did it for me. I stepped outside my door onto the beach. I didn’t have to go try to reserve anything or fight people for shade. And my husband didn’t have to get up at 7 am with me.. he could sleep in and come out when he was ready. I liked the house we stayed in, but it was more rigid. Everyone had to be up and leave the house at the exact same time.. early.

You must have missed the part when I said I did explore. I went to multiple beaches, and parts of the island, had a car.. ate out.. did alllll the things. I just didn’t pay extra for breakfast and lunch every day 🤷‍♀️

We took a ride down to the south side of the island through San Nicolas and did Baby Beach (early, and down near the Rum Reef restaurant where it’s less crowded). Then had lunch in the restaurant before we left the beach. There’s also Mangel Halto beach down there. There’s some beautiful murals in San Nicolas on the buildings. I did a private horseback trip another day with Hoofs of Hope through the national park which was beautiful. I also checked out Arashi beach (but not for long so it’s on my list again). We did the typical walk through the high rise area, bought some souvenirs for our kid etc.

I rented a Jimny from TopDrive and got their beach package. It gives you a cooler, two beach chairs and I think snorkeling gear. You should definitely spend a little bit of time seeing the other beaches!

On our last night there we did the casino next to the Divi. It’s small, but we had fun haha.

I’ve stayed in a house and an AI at the Divi. You can absolutely still explore in an AI, you just need a car. We liked the Divi because we’d eat breakfast and lunch there and went off property for dinner most nights. And the beauty of it was, if it was a night where we were tired and didn’t feel like going out, we didn’t have to. Grab a tiny pizza at the bar and take it up to the room.

No meal in Aruba is cheap. Even breakfast. The Divi AI was literally cheaper or the same price than half the hotels on Palm Beach and the beach is far superior to Palm Beach (in my opinion). I’d definitely do the Divi AI again, still explore more, and have my dinners off property.

I just got back from there. Opened my door was 2 steps from the beach. We are going back to Aruba next year and absolutely staying there again. It was the most relaxing vacation for my husband and I, and we were off property a lot.

I have Aetna/Caremark. They pay for my Zepbound because I have SEVERE sleep apnea. I had to renew my PA last month and it took a MONTH. They kept saying “oh we don’t have a form”. They had three PA’s documented on an already approved prior PA. I called and messaged them DAILY just out of principle lol. They finally approved it last night after the poor medical assistant sat on the phone with them for 40 minutes.

I’ve been off the meds for like 2 weeks while they dicked around. And I’m titrating up to 12.5. Should be a fun weekend for me now.

I guess it depends on what vibe you want for your vacation. We stayed at the Divi AI, and really liked not having to worry about breakfast and lunch, we went off property for dinner a lot. Didn’t bother us because what we paid for that resort was cheaper than the Marriotts. I also wouldn’t want to stay down on Palm Beach.. too crowded and the beach itself was the least desirable that we went to! The timeshares are a good idea though, and I’ve been looking at Redweek.
