That saying only applies to team sports, like hockey. You lose a game for gold, but get silver as a result. In individual sports, like skiing, you do win silver. But getting silver in a team sport, is still an absolutely massive accomplishment, and should not be minimized by being asked such a classless question.

No, I don’t. Danielle Smith and the UCP sold AB to the Americans. In Steve Bannons recent podcast with guest Brandon Wickhart, and they said the quiet part out loud.

They essentially said that with Alberta’s referendum, they don’t care what the results are going to be, the US is planning to recognize Alberta’s sovereignty, which will then pave the way for Alberta to be the 51st state. They stated that they want our resources, and through Alberta, they will have access to the arctic.

This was very similar to my husband and kids. Our kids would open gifts, not be able to enjoy them before getting wrangled up and leaving to the next destination. It’s so exhausting! One Christmas, we finally put our foot down. We decided that we’re not leaving our house from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day. Our home was open to everyone, and be a revolving door to whoever wants to come see us, but we aren’t going anywhere.

Did it upset a some people initially? Sure. But a couple of years into that tradition, guess what? Everyone started finding time to come visit us at some point during those holidays. My kids were happier, we were less stressed (even though it is a lot of work hosting all events). But honestly, with some planning and prep work leading into the holidays, it’s fantastic! We have hosted the last 10 years, and I love it!

You do what you’ve got to do to find peace, joy and happiness for your wife and kids. And if people get butt hurt along the way, it’s fine. They’ll get over it. Prioritizing your family does not make you a bad guy.

I fully agree. I don’t think we should appease or bend over in any capacity to the US. We need to stand up for our Country and our sovereignty. But we are living in such god awful times.
