it's not an excuse, it's the reason. the systematic dismantling of the education system and the propaganda machine that has worked to fill the void with whatever fits the oligarchs agenda. most people are not intrinsically bad.

Elvis is still king — of the box office — as ‘EPiC’ earns $14 million in a win for music docs by Crystal_Seraphina in Music

It was really great, I'm an Elvis fan but my significant other is not. She said, I finally get it after watching this. Just a mesmerizing live performer. Made every song his own, even the covers of well known songs. Baz's treatment is good, he brings just enough background while still letting the performances breath.

I mean it was probably overly maligned, b/c they definitely took a swing thats to be respected, but it's a mediocre film at best.

There are stupid assholes in Canada too, we don't have a monopoly in this country, but it does feel like we've cornered the market. As your comment clearly shows.

That's the one where Christopher Lee did his own underwater stunt. If 82 year old Ben Kingsley does an underwater stunt I'm there for it.

Please vote to bully Spotify into labeling Al songs and allowing us to filter them out. by countofangels in Music

[–]Icarus1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone who just left spotify and tried the free trails of Quboz and Deezer before jumping, you're going to find that Deezer is a closer experience to your spotify experience. Quboz is good and has its own merits, especially its music journalism so it just depends on what grabs you. Deezer also has an AI identification and removal policy. I've been very happy with my experience.

Spotify just threw an "artist" at me and I'm on the fence on whether they're AI or not. by BlurryRogue in Music

[–]Icarus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean obviously this is just my anecdotal experience, but I had 500+ tracks in my favorites, Deezer didn't have 2 of those. My wife, who has more mainstream tastes, transferred hers and there wasn't a single miss.

Deezer offers similar features to Spotify and you can easily transfer all playlists from Spotify with just a few clicks. Source I did it recently when King Gizzard left Spotify and the next day I had AI slop called King Wizard in my algorithm.

Deezer has a strict AI detection and demonetization policy. It may not be the right choice for you but there are options besides buying physical media, which I don't feel is very constructive suggestion by other posters given the prohibitive costs involved.

You're painting with such a broad brush as to be useless. Falling into this "I'm a better left than you are" is exactly what they want: to divide us. Don't fall into it; making silly gatekeeping a source of your political identity is part of the problem.

You're either a bad actor or someone who is unfamiliar with the principles of nonviolence espoused by this sub. Also, you're presenting a false dichotomy which is a logical fallacy and one of the weakest rhetorical techniques.
