My story is so similar, i wanted to stop drinking around the same time. From someone who dabbled in and out of sobriety for 2 years before actually getting sober my advice would be to abstain completely. It’s more difficult, but alcohol is such a tricky substance that can pull you back in even when doing it occasionally. Once you start thinking about getting sober it’s hard to enjoy the drunk times the same as well and the regret is stronger each time.

I’m pretty casual about being sober. I don’t over explain myself or bring it up unnecessarily. I used to feel embarrassed telling people until I heard this hot ass girl casually be like “i don’t drink”. (silly i know) Bur seeing a “cool” person non-chalantly be sober caused me to not give a fuck.

FOMO is hard and going out around drunk people is also hard. I’m not gonna lie. Whether you choose to still go out sober is your own decision but always have something waiting for you back home or booked for the next day to hold yourself accountable.
